  • Not a fan of Taylor since he left us high and dry last season, but, as it's
has been mentioned as a hypothetical scenario of "would you have him back on loan"
i was just wondering IF that happened, and he started banging in the goals to see us
up or playoffs, the mood could probably change very quickly, and memories  fade just
    as quick?
  • Of course if he got us out of this godforsaken league then I’d be happy and would probably shake his hand but I could never feel that feeling I had for him before he left us in the lurch when we absolutely needed him most. As a player you can’t undo wrongs like that.

Nope, I’m still not over Scott Parker’s c*ntery so can’t see myself cheering that mook Taylor anytime soon

All I care about is winning. In a heartbeat. The best striker since Bent.
How dare you insult Sir Yann.

The bloke turned his back on our club and was a huge factor in why we got relegated.

Any Charlton fan saying they still love him, or want him back at our club, should be embarrassed of themselves. So weird.
He’d be a lot better than our current strikers.

To put it like this, I had a girlfriend once who was an absolute freak in the bedroom who left me satisfied beyond my wildest dreams. However she had no sense of loyalty and eventually left me for a lad who drove a Sierra Cosworth. I had an Austin Metro at the time. Mrs AUN, whilst still very adept in her skills is not as bedroom orientated but so very loyal and devoted to the cause of our marriage and I adore her for it. If that girl from many moons ago came knocking on my door now I would tell her to f*** right off. That’s how we should treat Taylor. He had his chance and he messed it up.

(FFS, please no one show Mrs AUN this post)
    Well that was uncomfortable.

He hurt me Telly... He hurt me!  😂 😂

That sentence is perfect from a literacy perspective, there is even a Dylan reference in there.

    He’s an idiot, babe...
    We have a winner :)

It’s an amusing, but vacuous analogy.

In any case, there’s no chance or him coming back.

Alongside any one of our forwards he'd be fantastic IF he came with the hard working side we know he has. Emotion only goes so far whether positive or negative. He committed no crimes (even if it felt like he did) and Football is a results business and he gets results.

So’s Ched Evans but I wouldn’t want that c**t playing for us either.
    Completely unfair comparison.

All I care about is winning. In a heartbeat. The best striker since Bent.
    Yann was better
Was he? Or is that sentimentality talking? Lyle was a better goalscorer than Yann quite comfortably.

Yann technically was a class above

He was never a League One player, we got lucky having someone as sensible as Peter Varney doing the negotiations, when we went to the Championship he proved he could do it at that level, shown as well with Bournemouth and Reading.

Lyle has had more of a career in the lower leagues, would question if last year was a flash in the pan year with us because he was at a club he was comfortable at (as he's proven that he's struggled apart from Wimbledon and Charlton), would question if League One is his primary level
  • Both talismanic for us but Yann was a better all round player IMO. He's proved it consistently in the Championship. Lyle has had half a good season in the championship so far and with Murray joining I can't see that improving for him this season.

For legendary status at the club. Yann wins.

I still have very fond memories of Yann. In 10 years time, I won’t have that for Lyle.
    I agree with this.

    No.

    4 goals in 25.

Football is also not just a results business. People move on and it's best to keep it going in the right direction. He wouldn't fit in, in the dressing room.

Return of old ex players never really goes well...apart from Chris Powell's occasional casual return!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'd struggle to take seriously anyone who believes Taylor is as good a striker as Yann.
  • Forest after pigott. Lyle would become 4th choice striker in a team that play one up top... Lol.

Yann and Lyle are 2 totally different players....Yann more of an all rounder (no 10) and Lyle an out an out finisher.

in their prime they'd have made one hell of a partnership I reckon

This is the perfect response. Lyle is your scorer first assister second, Yann the assister first scorer second.
