Watching the Chelsea v Barnsley match tonight , reminded me of Charlton beating Barnsley 6 nil away, got to be up there as one of my favorites, what’s yours?

    Maybe not a favourite but definately memorable was Yeovil away in the rain

    Assuming you needed to be at the away game then:
    Battle of the bridge for pure pride in the team and the fans.
    Blackburn in the cup when we won 1-0 for shock result.
    Doncaster away in the play off semi for a great weekend and result/atmosphere & making it to a Wembley win.
    QPR away in the league cup drawing 1-1 for our turnout and the tube journey after.

    Such a tough question 

    completely random, but probably an away league game at Blackburn in 1992 (won 2-0). My memory in general is completely shot yet I remember this day out from start to finish so vividly.

    Not sure if strictly an ‘away’ game, but Leeds at St Andrew’s play off final replay in 86 was something else !!

    Norwich on St George’s Day (can’t remember the year, we lost to a Svensson last minute goal. Crap score but we were all on form that day in and out of the ground).

    Newcastle 3-0 2003 or 2004. Flew up, great weekend sesh.
    Chelsea carping cup pens win.

    but my groups day was the equivalent of the OFAH Jolly Boys Outing for memorable moments that day. 

    Yes, King Carl scored and I and many others were on the pitch to celebrate!

    I was on the terraces at the famous 4-3 win (having been 3-0 down) at St. James's Park, Newcastle, January 18th, 1992.
    That was an amazing game.

    Another very enjoyable day out took place nearly five years earlier, at The Dell, Southampton, on 25th April 1987, when goals from Jim Melrose and Robert Lee secured an important point in a 2-2 draw.
    The game took place on a very warm day. The campaign to return to The Valley was underway and, if my memory is correct, a group of Charlton supporters had walked from The Valley to The Dell.
    John Humphrey was sent off. Our goals led to wild scenes in the packed 'cage'.
    This well-earned point was indicative of the spirit evident in Lennie Lawrence's gutsy squad. That spirit would see the Addicks negotiate, successfully, the play-offs, culminating in the famous victory against Billy Bremner's Leeds Utd at St Andrew's, Birmingham.

    Seemed like every away game was like a jolly boys outing for me in those days, so many beers in so many pubs up and down the country and so many laughs.
    I just looked up the second half of that season and from Derby away just after Xmas and had some brilliant away days with loads of memorable moments from places like Derby, Brighton, Southend, Barnsley, Swindon, Cambridge, Boro, Pompey, Port Vale, Bristol Rovers. I did virtually every away on train, coach or car thst season and just gutted one of the only ones I missed was Newcastle 4-3, but remember that Saturday evening after the pubs closing waiting up Bexleyheath Broadway till gone midnight waiting for mates coach to get back and meet them and they were still buzzing getting off the coach. 

    I was a seasoned traveller, pub regular yet find it amazing I was just 16. You were able to grow up a lot earlier then.

    No, no doubt I’ve mentioned this day before. Long trip so was going by coach. Big turnout for the group I went with then, had all the back of the coach. Could smoke and booze on coach those days and we’d come well stocked. In addition, mate was a baker, had done an early 4am start and come straight from bakery to coach with a massive brown sack filled with donuts. By the Dartford tunnel the whole coach was a wreck covered with jam, sugar everywhere as a mass jam donut fight had been had. 

    From then on the day just kept getting funnier. Prostitutes encountered at the services, I got knocked over a wall by a police horse outside ground, not that it mattered but we won, load of us got on pitch, the whole day was just a laugh from start to finish. Capped off at Watford Gap on way back as we all piled off the coach Barry Fry was walking in front of us, so we just wrestled him to the ground in the car park and then all bundled on top. He absolutely loved it, laughing his head off and calling everyone fucking bastards with a big grin on his face. 

    Blinding day. Coach / minibus away days with a good crowd of mates and the banter is flowing is pretty unbeatable

    That was a game/day to remember.

    Leeds away in the FA Cup January ‘93. Nelson scoring for us with Minto blocking a Leeds winner whilst laying injured on the ground. 

    Blackburn away ‘94, midweek in the FA Cup  Pitcher scoring the winner. The atmosphere in the pub beforehand and in the ground itself was amazing.
