The defence is so much stronger with Purrington. The problem is Matthews great going forward but we always let goals in down his side when he plays , he rarely stops crosses coming in from his side2

Matthews is much more assured today than he has been.1

Gilbey is the one in this team capable of playing round corners and quickly transitioning the ball forward during counter attacks but he needs to impose himself on the game more. Always feels like he’s playing with a bit of lag. Really need him to get on the ball and use the pace of Maatsen and DJ to stretch them1

lots of running by DJ and Maatsen1 -
Matthews plays the ball forward, and the keeper has to come sideways out of his area to clear for a throw which Matthews will take long.

Can't for the life of me see how Gilbey is a better option than Shinnie or Morgan. Although i know he's been out for ages, so i'd be surprised if he's still on the pitch after 60 minutes.0

Don’t rate Gilbey at all - not sure what he does on the team - Shinnie or Morgan much better in that role1
