Just watched Maatsens goal again, very good control of the ball and excellent finish.7

Few thoughts from Doncaster fans on twitter:We could play for 10 years and not score. We are utter shite!
Garbage, scared to take a shot, slow in the build up. Butts has had long enough, get someone in now to give us hope of playoffs, we need 2 new strikers, we could play till next Friday and still not score
Poor all over the pitch , mid table finish for us
Don’t think Reece James did come out1 -
Sam Parkin is a decent pundit. Knows the league.4

Good as that first half was, and Maatson seems to have a totally different outlook on the game, and well done Nige so far with that game play, one thing though, we do seem to be pratting about at the back on times, trying too many short passes, and could have got undone on another day, but so far so good, maybe try with Chucks later in the game1

Don't think DJ has been that effective to be honest. Needs to get into the game more.
Maatsen has been great though

Bet the Sunderland fans are dreading that possibility.stoneroses19 said:Half time, happy with that. Lots of positives.Stop the season now. Lincoln in the play off semi and Sunderland at Wembley!5 -
Hasnt done his research though, just said he's finally reunited with Jason PearceValley11 said:Sam Parkin is a decent pundit. Knows the league.
Well those two havent played together this season...1 -
Anyone got a clip of Maatsens goal?0

Can’t be too harsh. He should have 2 assists.Gravesend_Addick said:Don't think DJ has been that effective to be honest. Needs to get into the game more.

Doncaster with strong 80s vibes.0

Got the assist and has put several decent balls in and like Maatsen has got back to help out defensively throughout.Gravesend_Addick said:Don't think DJ has been that effective to be honest. Needs to get into the game more.

Between the two for best player that half for me.2 -

Happy enough with that half, think we created the better opportunities and deserve to be in that lead. That being said feel like Doncaster have a goal or two in them as they play nice stuff, and it feels like something will eventually fall to them.
However we look pretty organised, and actually look like we know what we are doing. Even from throw ons - which is nice.0 -
Much appreciatedForeverAddickted said:NorthumberlandAddick said:Anyone got a clip of Maatsens goal?4 -
We look far better organised than a Bows teamFishCostaFortune said:Happy enough with that half, think we created the better opportunities and deserve to be in that lead. Still no sign of the “player” allegedly in Gilbey.Garrymanilow said:Odd line up I don’t really like it but we’ll see if it works. I really want Gilbey to do well as there’s obviously a player there so hopefully he can finally perform for us. Maatsen apparently on the right though. Hilarious that the new man has gone with the trick Bowyer got most criticised for in his first proper team selection0 -
HT 0-1.
Ordinary stuff, to be honest. Although what do you expect from Division Three? You can't really expect a re-enactment of Brazil-Italy '82.
Too many long and high balls by us to Stockers, which wouldn't be too bad if there were runners from midfield to collect the knock-downs. The one occasion it did happen, DJ passed forward for Maatsen's goal
Maatsen's done well on the right flank, took his goal well, and caused Donny a few problems.
Our defence have continued their quest to concede the daftest possible goal. Today Matthews has said "I see Akin's woefully underhit backpass and I raise you a backheel on my own six-yard box when facing towards the goal-line." Thankfully the resulting shot was Church-esque.
Donny have had plenty of the ball but done F all with it.
For me, the afternoon has been ruined by the six changes:
OUT: Scotty, Curbs, AN Other (aka Charlton legend), Tel, Greg, Browny.
IN: Prutton, Parkin, Mills, Parry, Hendrie.
The incomers have been bloody clueless. At one point Parry even mentioned how tough our next three matches were and included Lincoln. That game was called off two days ago you idiot!
Back to the game ...
Another 45 minutes of boredom coming up but three points coming back down the M1 at the end of it.0 -
Correct Pearce was injured, then Inniss was injured.ForeverAddickted said:

Doncaster look a bit like us at home earlier in the season. Some alright possession but no troubling the keeper then punished by the away side when they get a chance. More of the same this half Charlton.2
-
Strange half , I need a win to justify dumping my 15 year old at his club for a little mini tourney and fucking off home .
I used Charlton as the excuse I didn’t wanna stay when really I can’t be asked to speak to anyone .
50% Charlton
35% draw
15% Donny1 -
Matthews is not looking great , I’d be pleased if Gunter came on after HT0
-
Welcome back from he break.
And now for another break0 -
Feels very much like a work in progress but I am not too upset or worried about that. At least one eye and probably both have to be on next season now. Anything we get this season is just gravy but unlikely to be significant except in what Nads learns from it.0
-
Not much between Matthews and Gunter. No idea why he does that pass inside blindly.0
-
Ghost goal1

The first two have been poor. Jaiyesimi has been ok in a very defensive setupAFKABartram said:Funny half that, don’t find it easy to assess.
id like JFC, Gilbey and Jaiyesimi much more in the game than they are0 -
To be fair to him it was his flick on that created the opportunity for Maatsen to score and the ball has come down the right a lot more than the other flank. He is learning his game but I would much rather that he was playing and doing that than spending their time training and having 10 minute cameos here and there.Gravesend_Addick said:Don't think DJ has been that effective to be honest. Maatsen has been great though
With Maatsen's change of position it means that we now have three proper wide players to choose from and they will no doubt be rotated accordingly3
