Back again for another season of home league match reports:
"What we got was an earnest but unimaginative clash of few clear-cut chances which was always destined to end scoreless."

Entertaining report and spot on views, as always, from Kevin.
"The manager’s positivity is infectious. A bit hard to justify at times when some slight criticism seems in order, but easier to take than negative nitpicking."
Negative nitpicking??? You've been reading that post-match thread again Kev......... rookie mistake.1 -
Nail on head:
"Curbishley’s anecdote about seeing The Valley for the first time at the famous Who concert in 1974 stirred a musical response from Thomas Sandgaard. He picked up his guitar and toured the stadium accompanying “Valley Floyd Road”, while proving effortlessly he’s no Pete Townshend.
Metallica’s Master of Puppets rounded off the proceedings (“I will help you die!”) before silence proved yet again that it’s golden...'
Journalism - and humour - out of the very top drawer.1 -
"They were operating in a dull team, lacking spark and, crucially, leadership. A team which, without wishing to be unduly unkind, is spectacularly uninteresting."

Well wrote and perfect reflection of the game and what we have0

At least someone agrees with me, and not the BBC, that we didn't muster a shot on target.0

"It felt good that each member of Nigel Adkins’ 14-man squad contributed to this workmanlike victory over spirited Crewe; it felt good too that the Addicks scored for the first time at home; and it felt better than good to celebrate a win at last."

Kev's back with a brilliant and vivid write-up from last night.
"A quieter life without Metallica caterwauling in his ear must have its attractions. Music might be the food of love, as the Bard claims, but they didn’t have junk food in his day."

How KN maintains his spirited eloquence, despite the team and manager's miserable shambles, I'll never know. He's a fan too. He must be as despondent as the rest of us. Thanks anyway Kevin. A rare glimmer of light in the long dark night of the Addicks soul.InspectorSands said:Kev's back with a brilliant and vivid write-up from last night.
