League one betting has Sunderland favs we are 4th fav and Wigan are 7th
Meaningless right now ....... all teams in the division are still building their squads.
Some have finished & some are almost done. Imo we really havent got started yet.
Good, so even you acknowledge we haven't finished yet so please please please quit your incessant whining for at least a week I beg of you.
Tbf he isn’t saying we haven’t finished - he’s saying we haven’t even started.
There is a tonne to do in 3 weeks.
I know he's not saying that, my post says as much, which is why I'd like him to quit moaning about it 24/7.
Truth hurts does it ?
I agree we're behind where I would like us to be in terms of recruitment, it's your constant level of moaning that hurts. If the club have said our business is done then I could understand it but that is not the case.
With with NA having to isolate will this delay potential signings further?
Hope not what with the likes of Zoom, imagine thats been used a lot already to avoid players coming into contact too much with clubs that they may not even sign off
I think it’s entirely fair to discuss and question our transfer business or lack of it so far.
There seems to be this thing since Covid where anyone who doesn’t agree with the masses get absolutely pelted.
The days of opposing sides in a debate seem to be disappearing.
Debate? Discussion?! I would welcome it but all I see is someone constantly moaning that we haven't signed enough players. Oh me oh my woe. Put a fucking sock in it is all I ask.

He doesn't get pelters because he disagrees with the masses, he gets pelters because every year, without fail (and I've been a member here since 2006) he bitches and moans about our lack of transfer activity. Doesn't matter who or when we sign players, how well we've done the previous season or how well we do that season, Golfie is a constant. I even had an online spat with him one year (around a decade ago). He hasn't changed, and won't, so I'm not sure why people let him wind them up, but it is what it is.

It’s understandable to be concerned, clearly it’s not gone as well so far as hoped. We have however gone through this every summer for the last few years, and I’m not expecting us to end up with a much weaker squad than those years with a proper owner in place.
It’s not unbelievable to think we could get 3/4 loans, a permanent or two and a few frees I’ve the next month and a half. Even if much of that happens right at the end it’s a 46 game season so I won’t write off our chances of a serious challenge for promotion.
I’m not writing off any chances. I’m saying that our business thus far hasn’t been what you would expect with an exuberant and relatively wealthy owner who reckoned we’d smash the league.

We haven't missed out on promotion already, have we?

And of that I'm sure the majority of us agree. I've not been hanging on Sandgaards hyperbole as much as some though. In hindsight I'm sure he'll agree it was a naive comment to make. I personally never expected him to be throwing crazy money about even after he said that but can see how others would take it more literally.

Relatively wealthy compared to me and you but not compared to other football club owners.

Especially as there have been very few Premier League loans so far to the lower leagues
