    Dozens of reasons. 

    Sometimes they aren't really on trial the club are doing them a favour in letting them train and they help make up the numbers in preseason.

    You can't "know" every player.  You need a center back, agents suggest their clients, they come down for a weeks training, play a game or to, you might be impressed, you might not.

    You get a "gem" released/couldn't agree a new deal by someone's academy their agent will tout them around, see the lad form Millwall.  Who has more trials than Ronnie Kray.

    Cawley was not talking about Edwards but the two Cardiff players linked to us …. 
    Which 2 Cardiff players?  Do you mean Sol Bamber and Mendez-Lang?

    If so the first one has left Cardiff and moved back to Leeds.  I actually spoke to him recently, he isn't moving house again.  Might do a player coach role at Boro.

    Mendez-Lang left Cardiff as the result of a failed drug test and has since played for Boro as well. 

    Or is it two other Cardiff players we have been linked with?  Like ones from Cardiff?

    This chap is credible I believe i.e. Dobson signing. I’d just sign Edwards but it’ll depend if he is willing to drop wages and down a league.

    You’d hope that seeing that he’s here then a deal must be workable. Fingers crossed.

    Been saying this a few times, think he looks more than up to it. Strengthen elsewhere first - CB last signing if needed and have budget.

    He’s a good talent but with Inniss injury record that would make me very nervous if he had to play 20+ games this season.

    Only if West Brom had offered a contract which he'd turned down.

    Because they've released him, they get nadda - Its why we offered that very token contract to Fosu at the end of 2019

    Big gamble if Inniss is out of a while (not unlikely) and Deji has a few bad games - would put huge pressure on him to turn it around.

    If we sign a CB then Deji can develop without pressure by getting a few cup games and eased in more gently into league games.

    It would be a bit different if he was a young winger who could make appearances off the bench.

    Especially as our 3rd choice CB is a left footer, so not an ideal partner for Famewo.
