Are we forgetting Pearce? It would allow one of Famewo and Gunter to play RCB, though we know they can do that, they don't do it very assuredly.Scoham said:

I'd be amazed if we signed Edwards. Signing a 23 year old that was playing premier league football last season? That'd surely be the best League 1 transfer this window.
Don't know much about Gomes, why did he only play 9 games for Doncaster and why did they release him?
I like the sound of Deji getting first team games and would be happy if we signed a CB to rotate with Inniss and Famewo and had Deji and Pearce as backup.5 -

Maybe the idea is to get as close to 30 games out of Inniss as possible & split the remaining games between Gunter and Elerewe.
Barker could fill in right back duties alongside Gunter-Famewo if Inniss & Matthews were out at the same time.0 -
Wouldn’t pay a jot of attention to what that melt Dreisen says. He was involved in some of the worst signings I’ve ever seen at Charlton, Bergdich, Ba , just to name two. Like asking Dwight Yorke on his tips for being a good dad. Fuck him21

Agree that using Deji as 4th choice centre back is risky. Maybe he’s good enough. Maybe he’s had the same pre season purple patch that Barker had this time last year. The point is, he shouldn’t be under the pressure of 30 games as a starter if Innis gets crocked.
All this talk of seeing if there’s any money left in the budget for a defender is foolish. We neglected the CB strength last season and paid for it.21 -

100% agree but Deji isn't the only center back below the first team.
