I heard it’s Andall Randall who has already signed. He’s a Spanish left back who used to play Swansea but he got a bit panicked around brexit and changed his name to try and avoid getting deported.3

We get these “player has already signed but the club are holding off announcing it’ theories every summer. Can anyone think of an example where that has actually happened?

Taylor Richards from Brighton is one I thought looked quality last season.
Very similar to the way Aribo plays.
Haven’t seen him linked to anyone (or moved) but he’s be class in our midfield

You do, but I'm not sure you're right. Only McGillivray was out of contract. We paid for the others, except possibly Famewo but there's an agreement in place for him.golfaddick said:

We haven't spent huge amounts maybe but we have spent money to get players we want to get.2 -

I wouldn't say just because Ipswich are in for him you can rule us out, if we even are in.
The problem is Inniss. Are you going to attract a good enough player to back him up or do you just get the best RCB you can and if Inniss can't get in the team, tough? That second option could be more expensive. I don't think you can get a loan as back up, unless it's an older player that someone wants off the wage bill.0 -

If we are managing Inniss to get him through friendlies how often is he going to be able to play three games in 8 days? It is a difficult call, and I agree about loan CBs getting into the team through sub appearances but when Inniss gets injured or we need to rest him it is then up to him to win his place back.Cafc43v3r said:

Honestly, any CB we look at should be good enough to be first choice on their own merit and let Inniss be the one to prove his quality/fitness and fight for a chance.Cafc43v3r said:

Such a CB would be very hard to find I grant you but for me Inniss cannot be counted on as a first choice defender for a whole season.4 -
It's not just Inniss though, there's Famewo too who is likely to have a niggle or too. With 46 games and at least 2 CB spots available, our top 3 could all play 30 odd games each. I don't think you'd have any issue attracting a very good CB or persuading a loanee (or their club).Cafc43v3r said:

Inniss is clearly a dominating force on the field but if he can’t stay fit, he’s not reliable enough to be first choice. If someone like Edmundson came in, sorry Ryan but you’re going to be spending a lot of time on the bench.1

Exactly if he can't ever play midweek for example he can't expect another player to just drop out every other game. Then your looking at "first team wages" which changes who you can, and can't, go in for.J BLOCK said:

I think Famewo is much less of an injury risk than Inniss.1
