This story came from Portsmouth everything they are interested in someone they add Charlton Sunderland and Ipswich to the story .. think it gives them an excuse to their fans when he don’t join them ..2 -
According to Scottish newspaper Daily Record only Derby and Ipswich are interested , Derby can only offer him a loan deal but Ipswich have offered 3 year deal …No mention of us ..0

I think we lost 1 league game last season when Innis started? If true, he really is our most key player by far.
We've rejuvenated our physio and medical setup, and they think the best way to set his body up for the season is to put him on a slow burn pre season. That's the specialists' highly paid opinion to get the most out of him.
Surely we should be pleased he's got a customized program? It seems like some are taking it as an admission that he will only play half the season. This is the planned cure, not the symptoms.9 -

Watching the highlights of the last few games of last season on Charlton Tv. Im surprised at how many times our good lead up play was through Maatsen and Millar. Having said that I was really impressed by Owen Dale of Crewe, could he fill the void left by Millar?1

Edmundson isn't all that, only really proved his worth in league 2 with Oldham, was a punt signing by Rangers, there are better options at this level, we already have two better centre backs on our books at least5

The problem is Inniss. Are you going to attract a good enough player to back him up or do you just get the best RCB you can and if Inniss can't get in the team, tough? That second option could be more expensive. I don't think you can get a loan as back up, unless it's an older player that someone wants off the wage bill.
Or do you do you say Inniss is my first choice but might only play 20 games and you'll play the rest?
Its a difficult call, and to attract a loan, because center halves very rarely got the chance to force there way into the team through sub appearances. You bring an attacking player off the bench in almost every game.
Such a CB would be very hard to find I grant you but for me Inniss cannot be counted on as a first choice defender for a whole season.
His fitness is another matter. But I’m pretty sure they’ll try and get every minute they can out of him.
I'd love a whole season of Inniss in defence but past seasons say that would be a fluke.2 -

If you can get into the top 6 you’re going to be there or thereabouts in terms of promotion.
What happened to "blow this league out the water"?
And the five-year plan to get to the Premier League?
Yes, yes ... I'm delighted that we have a genuine owner, and that we are not being run by spivs etc. And that we have a Club to support.
But the goalposts seemed to have moved dramatically since Sandgaard first took over.
Me? I'll settle for a ten-year plan.
Maybe time for Sandgaard to articulate the new long-term vision. Because, sure as Hell, the original hyperbole ain't gonna happen.
It looks like he believes it can be done through intelligent recruitment and investment in the right areas. Finding good value for money rather than outspending everyone.
He's also patient and probably expects to bring in some bargains and quality loans as we move towards the end of the window. There are clubs out there that will need the money and good players out of contract getting their last payment from their previous contract this month.
If he gets it wrong this season he'll end up spending a lot more on another promotion attempt than had he gone for it a bit more this summer. Hopefully it doesn't come to that, for me we still need 4/5 signings as a minimum, ideally a few more than that.
I wish that you are right.
In Sandgaard’s mind I’d say yes, he believes we’ll find a way. This transfer window doesn’t necessarily mean every future one under him will go the same way. He could bring in new investors. We could start spending more if we’ve made a big sale or two in the way clubs like Brentford do. Or maybe he’s just extremely confident in the way we’re going to recruit signings and develop players from the academy.0 -
Sage said:Paul Cook is an excellent manager and would be surprised if Ipswich fail to get promoted this coming season. They’ve done some excellent business, albeit spending a lot of money. But Cook is proven and knows how to win a league and if it wasn’t for administration, would’ve kept Wigan up the other year.2

Cook also won league two with Chesterfield and Portsmouth.

BR7_addick said:Posted in here as well as squad list because it’ll be seen by more. How we kicked off 20/21:
Amos
Barker, Oshilaja, Pratley, Purrington
Gilbey, Lapslie, JFC
Doughty, Bonne, Washington
Vs
How we will currently kick off 21/22:
McGillivray
Matthews, Innis, Famewo, Purrington
Gilbey, Dobson, Clare
Jaiyesimi, Stockley, Washington
Matched up player for player I make it this seasons team wins 6-2 with 3 being the same.
And we’ve not even finished business yet, things are better, relax people.
Record under Adkins:
W5 D4 L1
That equates to 87 points over 46 games. This is with a worse XI for the majority than we will start the season with (and our business is not done), we also still managed to finished 7th on GD.We now have players on proper contracts who are enjoying a summer of stability rather than worrying if they’re getting paid.
There are so many reasons to be positive heading into the Wednesday game, and I’m usually glass half empty!5 -
Ipswich have a nice set of fixtures at the start of the season playing Morecombe, Cheltenham & Wimbledon in Aug.
Our starting fixtures look comparatively tougher against Sheff Weds, Wigan & Oxford etc
...even more reason why we could do with not waiting till deadline day to fill most of our remaining squad gaps (but I get that the game of transfer poker makes that hard for Gallen to achieve without overpaying).
Although it's hard to judge alot from friendlies, Ipswich lost to palace 1-0 on Sat. Be interesting to see how we get on against Palace on Tues as a bit of a benchmark.
