Don't forget to wear something red today, as a celebration of the Lord's #RedForRuth day.

You can find out about it here https://ruthstraussfoundation.com/events/redforruth2021/ - and make donations to enable parents to open up to their children about their terminal diagnosis, grief, death and dying, here https://ruthstraussfoundation.com/donate/
Andrew Strauss got a great round of applause as he walked around the ground

I bought a rosette for the foundation

Curran is the weak link bowlers build pressure for him to jsut throw it away literally. I understand he has the potential to be a fantastic player but Mahmoud is such a bigger threat.
With Mahmoud in place of Curran, you have a  really long tail, that's the problem
Curran is what we used to call a bits and pieces player see dermot Reeve and Derek pringle

As a bowler does he have the potential to bowl a side out eg take 5 or 6 wickets in an innings? No

Can he score a test match century here and there ? Probably not

As an all rounder he doesn't compare to stokes or Ali or even Woakes

He should concentrate on the IPL circus
I might sound harsh but I know I am right

Largely agree. Useful player to have in and around the squad and on his day has a habit of making things happen. But probably not there yet. Should be looking to turn himself into a Kallis allrounder of he wants to play tests. But I imagine he is happy enough on the white ball circuit.
asking a lot to turn yourself into one of the greatest all rounders of all time !!!

Get Moeen on at the two lefties for heaven's sake, Curran is almost unbowlable at this point

Will be a huge blow but the bowling depth is far better than our batting. Woakes in England is different gravy

When fit. It's not all been down to injury but the last Test he played in was virtually a year ago.

I see our openers are going nowhere.

    16 runs off 11 overs.

As I type Sibley makes an attacking shot for 2. 18 runs off 12 overs. Run rate of 1.5. There is seeing off the new ball and then there is pedestrian cricket. Is John Crawley the batting coach.....

India were 13/0 after 11 overs yesterday, makes us 3 runs ahead of them and then 14 off 12!

I might've missed it... why the switch to red lettering from navy?

Sibley is such a one dimensional batsman. Starve, starve, starve him of runs and then give him one for the trap.

Got to move Root up to 3 I think. Sibley not good enough, and to be fair I'm glad Crawley was rested, his confidence looked shot.
    However where are our openers?

Hameed literally looked like what I would if I went out to bat number 3 in this test match. Zero foot movement, definite nerves.
