Fed up with the train and I've been driving in so far this season. Come in on the A2 and normally use Hervey Road and walk but been trying out parking in Plumstead near Lakedale and getting the bus (free bus pass
).
Fine except last week I jumped on the first bus after the game and ended up half way to Thamesmead before I got off and had to back track to Plumstead

That will be the 472, I think you need either the 180 or 171. Or change in Woolwich.Dippenhall said:Fed up with the train and I've been driving in so far this season. If you don't mind paying, parking in the West Stand car park would be the most stress-free option. £36 mind.0

Lol. Yes of course. (£600 for a seasonal pass, which is actually £200 cheaper than last year.)Bedsaddick said:

I’ve parked near the McDonald’s/Smyths Toys for as long as I can remember
Finally got a ticket from the Sheff Wed game a few days ago so I need a plan B, preferably that side of the ground to get out to the Blackwall Tunnel
Happy to pay for a car park as long as it’s a reasonably quick getaway0 -
Westcombe Park station car park? It's small, but the walk to the ground is 15 mins max and you'll be through the Blackwall in no time provided there's no accidentsSouthendaddick said:I’ve parked near the McDonald’s/Smyths Toys for as long as I can remember

We've always parked in the Ropery Business Park just down from Makro's.

The people running it have changed since I last drove to the ground in February last year, so I was a bit unsure if there was still parking there on matchdays, but I was fine there for the first two home games of the season.

I’ve been parking down Anchor and Hope Lane. Need to get there around 13.30 to get a space though. Been having a coupe of drinks in the Anchor pub to kill a bit of time as well.0

Train car parks are the best place for your car to get broken into/stolen.sam3110 said:

The people running it have changed since I last drove to the ground in February last year, so I was a bit unsure if there was still parking there on matchdays, but I was fine there for the first two home games of the season. The traffic coming into Charlton from Kent on the A2 for both the Sheffield Wednesday and AFC Wimbledon games was awful, so I didn't get there until just before kick-off for both matches. I still managed to get a space even then though. I normally aim for 2pm otherwise. Hope that helps!0 -
How much is a parking ticket? . Can't be much moreIanJRO said:
Didn't realise this was an option so good to know. £36 is pretty steep but it would certainly take the stress out of things.cafcfan said:If you don't mind paying, parking in the West Stand car park would be the most stress-free option. £36 mind.2 -

Yes but if you intend doing it please note that spaces are limited. You would have to speak to the Charlton hospitality people in advance: you can't just turn up. I notice you mentioned you child's learning disability, so I thought I'd add that there are specified disable parking spaces where many of the vehicles are larger van-based jobbies. It may be worth mentioning your situation and asking if one of these spaces could be allocated to you.IanJRO said:

Thanks, have dropped them an email to find out.cafcfan said:

It was a 472 to Bexleyheath which I foolishly assumed would be heading for Wickham Lane.guinnessaddick said:

How about the Queen Elizabeth hospital car park? Anyone else used that?0

You need to speak to the disability liaison officer DLO. The club provide free parking for disabled supporters but spaces are limited. If you are attending with someone else you could ask for a drop off pass that allows you access to Floyd road to drop off and then go and park.IanJRO said:

Usual cost for an NHS hospital car park is about £1.50 - £2 per hour. As it would take you a good 20 mins to walk to the ground from there I would say a minimum of a 4 hour stay would set you back £6 at least.fat man on a moped said:How about the Queen Elizabeth hospital car park? I think the Ikea car park allows parking up to five hours but you need to check. Handy for Blackwell tunnel.0

near charlton house charlton Park is OK good 10 15 mins to ground though0

It's £4 for 4 hours, not fussed about the walk as long as it's not raining. Might give it a go.golfaddick said:

May even be easier to get away afterwards from there.0 -
Whenever I've needed to park there (hospital related) the spaces are few and far between.fat man on a moped said:

I've always found there are most places in the car park where the buses terminate, which is the first car park on the right hand side if you have entered Baker Road from Shooters Hill.
This is of course the furthest from The Valley.0 -
As CE says parking can often be a bit tight at the Hospital, maybe leave it for folks using the Hospital?Covered End said:

Good point which I hadn't considered, however being a Saturday I guess there will be less outpatient clinics running so demand for spaces will be slightly less.Baldybonce said:
