CHARLTON legend Chris Powell will be a special guest at the Addicks’ game against Derby on Saturday.

Powell, a favourite with both sets of supporters, will present the Rams’ Player of the Year award on the Pride Park pitch.

The 39-year-old, now at Leicester City, has just clinched the League One title with the Foxes.

Chris Powell also proved that players who've spent some time playing in the 3rd Division - can win full caps for England, if they're good enough.

    Thinking of Jonjo here.

I remember playing Southend at Upton Park in 1991-2 and Chris Powell stood out then, and Southend had a really good side at the time. I was amazed when Derby sold him to us, they bought some German wing-back to play another system and let CP go. He always got an amazing reception up there and I suspect they wished they had never sold him.

ive posted this before on here and said look at this picture. The night we beat chelsea on penalties. Hughes just scored the winner (think it wsa Hughes) and the team are about to start running towards him and Andersen. What is Powell doing... loooking back at us lot that were going doolally and wanting to join us.

Derby brought in Stefan Schnoor on a free - so not bad business if you sell a player for good money and replace him for nothing. He lasted a season and returned to Germany to play for Wolfsburg, I remember Newton giving him the run-around when we played Derby in our first season in the Prem, he was subbed at half-time.
