    That's what I'd call a Cup tie ...... 11 goal thriller!

  • Reminder that we're Ball No.33 in the draw for the Second Round.

Buxton (L7) are the lowest team left in the competition but can yet be joined by Banbury (who are playing Barrow on ITV now) and Stratford Town who play tomorrow against Shewsbury.

Draw will be live on ITV during the game between Dag & Red v Salford on Monday night.

    Poor 1st half
    Excellent 2nd half
A few of the players given a start today really done themselves no favours.
It was only when JJ made changes we looked good.
Anyway a win in the FA cup is always welcome no matter the opposition.
Looking forward to the 2nd round draw now.

Salford on TV, there's a surprise. I wonder if they'll mention the Class of 92...

Thoroughly enjoyable second half, enlivened by the banter on this thread, thank you all.
    Indeed, NIA.

Rarely partake of this thread but thanks for having me (!)
Really enjoyed your company, Fanny  @Fanny Fanackapan

Did you ever manage to hear the game on the wireless?

    Thanks, Oggy.

Yes, only missed the first 15 mins or so but the link to audio from the tech lads made a difference.

    Never listened in before.

Wonder why I didn't see it on the Charlton TV page ?  :-)

Dullest 4-0 win ever  ;) To be fair, the last half hour was good,  but the first hour was a soulless grind of a match. Lee for Morgan was the difference. He really took the game by the scruff of the neck, and brought others into it. This was a big chance for Albi to impress the new boss, but he sleepwalked his way through it. Difficult to see were he goes from here.

Poor for 65mins. Lee coming on turned the game completely. Morgan was appalling. Honestly have no idea where he goes from here.

Scoreline was hugely flattering and we barely threatened for 2/3 of that.

Havant tired towards the end and then ran out of outfield players.

Positives? Thought Clare looked good in the back 3, and Burstow is now on 2 in 10mins I believe. Couple of goals for Stockley. Elewere also did well after picking up an early booking. Other than one header, Henderson had nothing to do. If ever there was a dull 4-0 this was it.

Big question mark over Kirk. Yes he got an assist and came into it a bit in the later stages, but he looks so one dimensional. CBT wasn't great, but at least he beat his full back a few times as they tired.

Was sitting quite close to Jackson and he was not happy with Morgan, nor was he happy with how passive we were for the first hour.

We want to change that if we are playing away and have come to park the bus.

To stick with the ampersand theme, you’d presumably like Brighton & Hove Albion in the 3rd Round.

At work, seen many of them in recent years come to nothing, bit of a revenge for me as i saw them beat Ebbsfleet several weeks ago.  But got there in the end. Looking for another home time as shifts permitting i will be able to attend the next one.

Well done JJ and well done Charlton
I cannot believe some of the negative comments
    about today’s 4-0 win yes 4-0 win.
JJ made 9 changes to start with for a reason
then like in all cup games the away side played a game that was to be expected in the FA cup.
changes in the second half were correctly made that won us the game.

For years we have been shit in the FA Cup
and this considered was a great result and some experimental  experience gained for our hopefully new full time manager 👍👍👍👍
