the ironic thing about this thread is that Selhurst Park is a bigger shitehole than most league 1 and league 2 grounds combined. Carlisle is a lovely town, well worth a visit.

It may be, but it's still a Championship ground, even with it's square corner flags.

Shithurst is a league 2 stadium in championship clothing. The Valley is a Premier League stadium...etc!

It will really hit me when we seal the League 1 title and Palace swap places with us.

I posted this a few months back...earlier this season at Selhurst I happened to have a ticket for a seat in the second to front row of the Arthur Waite stand.........when I got to where my seat 'should have been' it was completely missing, as were three or four seats either side of it...just the metal frame was there but no seat!
It had been raining earlier in the day and a puddle of water stretching about twenty feet along the row where my seat was (or should I say wasn't!) resulted in my having to stand in a puddle about half an inch deep for the entire game.
When I pointed all this out to the wonderful thicko stewards I was given the immortal line...."Write into the club mate."

I'm sure you'll be proud to have one of the finest stadiums in Division 3.

Very proud caged bird, and this time next year we will be up and you will be down and you will still have a league 2 stadium. Make the most of your season in the 'sun' because it doesn't happen very often. Thanks for the points too. (didn't help much in the final total I know) If only we could play you every week!

Went to an away Luton Town match at Carlisle in 1997. The match was atrocious, early days of Lennie Lawerence in the third tier. But it was a great experience. Another world, rubbish football and bizarre locals with a five year old threatening to stab us. I like the Lake district but it's experiences like that that really bring it home to you how decrepit the North is.

We may have a league 2 stadium, but as you say we will be playing in the Championship. Your welcome to the three points, as you say it didn't really help, did it?

As I said, make the most of your season in the sun because as you are no doubt aware Palace rarely get many chances to gloat over Charlton and this year has been that chance for you and you all nearly made the most of it. You are on here so regularly you are almost like part of the furniture and its fair to assume you are almost one of us however much you might try and fight it!
As you freely admit you have a League 2 stadium something the football world has known for a long time but hopefully Mr Jordan may decide to get all late 20th century and put a few more plastic seats in. Selhurst may be a Championship venue now but for how long realistically? I can see Palace struggling next year as they definitely failed to build on last seasons brief flirtation with success and Warnock who is really the best thing you have going for you must surely have his head turned by a bigger job before too long or failing that may fall foul of Jordan's well known treatment of manager's,I think it's not beyond the realms of posibility that we could well swap places.Hope you will still be with us to watch it all unfold.

You may be having your little laugh and gloat for the time being....BUT YOU WILL NEVER KNOW the pleasure we had that day at The Valley when we sent you down by our own hand at a packed Valley, it was simply one of the greatest moments in my footballing life, how we all relished it you can only imagine....you can't and never will match that wonderful moment and feeling we had because it was US that actually did for you that day....yes, WE sent The Palace down!!
Wheras you can NEVER say WE sent The Charlton down.......can you?

Go back to your Croydon shitpit, get some sellotape and fix the place up enough so that whatever non-league team you pick in the FA cup don't end up feeling sorry for you due to the state of your crappy supermarket/'football' stadium.

Come on play nicely- there aren't really that many decent Palace forums, if any to be fair. I wished some of us cared enough to go to the trouble of registering on one of them but in the end I suppose most lifers just can't be bothered to go to all the trouble!
