"Gone for a Burton" .... a familiar war-time expression meaning to go missing or die in action. 
Well, in football parlance, that's exactly what Lee Bowyer's Charlton team did getting walloped 4-2 by then bottom of the League Burton, the last time we visited them.

Jacko can't afford a repeat today. We've got our usual regulars missing, plus Gunts and Washo away on international duty.
Burton have a fair few missing also.

We have everybody's current favourite referee in charge today ...... our nemesis, Trevor Kettle.
No doubt, being the star of his own show, he'll work up a head of steam and boil over.

    Not sure how today is going to go, never like playing Burton as they've always looked a good side - Hope we bemoan the fact the game should have been called off if we lose

    Yeah was thinking the same, we feel very light on the bench in terms of an actual Striker

    Could even ask if we truly need all three of Arter | Watson | Morgan even on there

    Down to the bare bones with 8 players out  , against a good Burton team  , but I think we'll get something out of it .

    I forgot about the old Deji .... I would have given him an honourable mention.

    As we know, always had a mistake in him - but always an honest 100 per cent-er. And on his day, could put in a very decent performance.
    One of those players who is good when other players perform around him.

    Not forgetting, of course ..... the player holding the record for speaking the most words in the shortest time. :smile:

    Slightly surprised not to see Burstow on the bench too. 

    If we need to replace one of our strikers, I imagine he'll bring on a midfielder and push Lee up top, as he can play as a striker

    After all the comments this week, good to see Morgan on the bench

    Not feeling as confident about this one. However if we can keep the intensity that JJ demands up, and can get Gilbey and Lee involved then hopefully we can nick something.

    Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Michael Mancienne both have had disappointing careers when you consider the number of England youth caps they got. Looking him up, Mancienne had 30 U21 caps!

    Jacko sounding upbeat on the stream, and saying surface and set up at Burton today is fine, so lets just make it 10 points from 12 today....3-5-2 set up

    Not feeling confident about this one to be honest. Playing Sean Clare in the back three is going to be an interesting experiment.

    Sorry Jacko but you've gone down in my estimation. Get an injury early on to one of THE ONLY 2 STRIKERS NAMED IN A SQUAD OF 18 and we will be looking at disaster.

    Didnt post on the preview thread but now looking at our team I cant see us winning this one.

    1-0.......and the undefeated run goes for a Burton.

    Why? Nothing wrong with the team! Washington would have started in front of Davison but that’s still a strong looking team
