So R.I.PIf you only watch one of his films watch In the Heat of the Night - up there with the greatest films of all time.As others have said, a trailblazer and also a fine, fine actor who can be held up against any of his peers.RIP Sir Sidney3 -
One of my favourite film stars of all time!! So sad he has passed, In the Heat of the Night is a MUST watch for everyone, a truly great movie - iconic!!

My favourite Poitier movie is 'The Defiant Ones' .. Poitier and Tony Curtis play escaped prisoners handcuffed together .. a 'must cooperate together to survive' parable well ahead of the civil rights movements getting up a real head of steam in the USA ..1
