Where any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses.

Didn’t know this was a thing. So if you get say one letter correct and one in the wrong place, your next guess must include both those letters ? 

Yes, its on the cog sign on the top right of the page. Not sure if it makes it harder, as generally i tend to use the letters that I find are correct, rather than on the second guess a  different word with totally different letters.

Correct. Mathematically It improves your chances,. It’s logically the best way to play.

I suppose if you used 15 different letters in the first 3 goes you would probably have most of the letters you need but the aim is to do it in as few steps as possible. Seems a bit pointless. 

And overlay the strategy with knowledge of common letter clusters and letter non-sequitors and it’s irrefutably a better strategy. Maths will bitch slap you in the face if you ignore it.
