It seems odd that we're not concentrating our limited resources on those kind of players given how spectacularly the Aribo and Lookman punts paid off (or should have paid off).1 -
Got 25 minutes off the bench in Blackpool’s 3-1 home win over Bristol City.0

No.27 for Blackpool - Botched his first cross a little, nice weight on the second attempt
Shows more for them in a few clips than he ever did for us, unlucky not to score... Says a lot at the moment

Better coaching, better game plans, better players around him, feels more settled in the north, just a one off good performance.Croydon said:

Could be a combination of many things. However it should never surprise me, but do find it funny how quick certain sections of our fan base were to write him off.8 -
Fans writing him off, or not, is irrelevant. There are still people that think Ronnie will come good.FishCostaFortune said:

What is relevant is the manager felt he was unselectable, for what ever reason.
Sometimes, and I include myself in this, we have to remember that our opinions are just that and actually have no influence on team selection or transfers. So and so is dog shit, we should never have sold him, i can't believe he is picked over him. They make the forum go round, as they do post match chat in the pub or in the car after the game.
They don't really matter.5 -
I do agree with that part for sure. Whether fans thought he was crap, or deserved more of a chance, it was clear he was not part of JJ’s plan - I assume a big reason for that was formation wise, but there could be many others.Cafc43v3r said:

It's unfortunate with Kirk really. Until the recent re-collapse Jackson had managed to invigorate a few players. Dobson, Clare, DJ, Washington Morgan, they've all benefited from the initial bounce of Jackson coming in and Adkins going out. Unfortunately Jackson's desire to play this formation meant there wasn't an obvious spot for Kirk in the team and he didn't look wonderful at CM or WB. Not that he got given much time there mind, but imagine if a manager had come in who could make the most of a creative winger, we might have seen a very different Charlie Kirk

Back on the bench tonight, with Blackpool at Queens Park Rangers
Game is on the red button (Sky Sports), and will be easy to find a stream0 -
Well wouldn’t you know, he’s getting rave reviews! Ffs0

Only been involved in three games, two of those he's started, and in both those games he's got an assist.0 -
I’m pleased Charlie’s finding some form, gutted he’s not doing it for us.5

His assist for the goal can be seen at the very beginning... Peach of a cross. Swansea on the other hand - Straight out of the "How to Defend Set Pieces the Charlton way" available NOW in all bookshops

Can't do it here, but can do it a league above at another club.
Something is really going wrong behind the scenes. When's the last time we've coached up a player? Probably a good 3/4 years ago under Bowyer.1 -
if it wasnt Charlton it would be ironic...0

He’s probably much happier back up north. Some players never settle in another part of the country.SELR_addicks said:Can't do it here, but can do it a league above at another club.

We weren’t doing anything well under Adkins, we couldn’t defend well, press or keep possession. We didn’t create enough chances. A lot like the way we’re playing now.
Jackson then took over and played a system Kirk was never going to fit into.1 -
Has only featured 4 times for Blackpool, doubt they'll end up buying him off us0
-
Look at DJ - one of Swindon's best attacking talents in years, now a competent full-back. Look at CBT - forced to defend with an injury for 20 minutes, broken after being asked to run the entire length of the pitch every time we get the ball. Now look at Kirk, a man with less appetite for defending than even these wingers, and ask yourself why you ever thought he stood a chance under Jackson8

They'll probably send him back and re-negotiate the transfer feePWADDICK said:Has only featured 4 times for Blackpool, doubt they'll end up buying him off us
Asked on the Blackpool twitter account last night - One fan replied saying he's excellent at passing the ball, but his lack of pace lets him down, sounded like he wouldn't be unhappy if they signed him.0 -
What's worse than that is we tried to sign him under Bowyer. Can you imagine!Leuth said:Look at DJ - one of Swindon's best attacking talents in years, now a competent full-back. An assist for Kirk, against Bowyer's Brum.3
-
I'd be fine with minimising the financial loss and accepting what Blackpool offer.
Unless we're playing a system where he has a full-back behind him, he just doesn't bring enough. It's a shame, but I can't see him back with us next season.1 -
A proper , attacking full back behind him, not Purringtonth0rryy said:I'd be fine with minimising the financial loss and accepting what Blackpool offer.

Outstanding game today, albeit against a poor Brum. Great delivery of a corner/cross.
Can we keep him please ?3 -
Still baffled how he's in and out of the team so often, despite getting his third or fourth assist today since joiningHertsseasider said:Outstanding game today, albeit against a poor Brum. Great delivery of a corner/cross.

Does he want to move back down south? Do Blackpool want him? Where does he fit into our system? I struggle to see any outcome other than him signing for Blackpool or another club in the north west.Hertsseasider said:Outstanding game today, albeit against a poor Brum. Another player, like Fraser who thrives outside of Charlton. Cursed club, we just aren’t allowed any players with gifted technical abilities in recent years. Limited to work horses with a pair of sponge feet.It is absolutely a mismanagement issue, that’s Jaiyesimi, Fraser and Kirk all been played in the wrong positions this season. They’re all clearly very talented players and we need the right coaching team to get the best out of them5

Problem of being at Charlton is that if you are a creative player, you need to do 2/3 people's job else just receive criticism and get moved on.Braziliance said:Another player, like Fraser who thrives outside of Charlton. We’ve not played Fraser out of position? Or are you referring to Ipswich playing him on the wing?Braziliance said:Another player, like Fraser who thrives outside of Charlton. This is what I’m saying, it’s almost like a culture issue at Charlton. I love a Dobbo and Cullen as much as the next person but why is it every season we see these players drop ridiculous numbers goals and assists wise, Maddison, Reeves etc and the minute they get on a Charlton kit they look like average players and we ship them off. Can’t rack my head around itmendonca said:

He’s a number 10 and arguably the best at that role outside of the premier league and the championship yet we play with wingbacks and don’t play it through the middle. With players like Dobson/Clare/JFC with wingers like DJ/CBT and potentially Kirk next season we are tailor made for a 4231 or wide diamond, instead we insist on a 532 where our only attacking opportunities come from CBT skinning someone or a hopeless ball in the box where Stockley is man marked by 2-3 centre backs. It’s infuriating to watch and I can’t understand how we are willing to risk it again for another seasonScoham said:
