At least Since I Was Young has stopped
  • We all piss in a blue and white pot, a blue and white pot, a blue and white pot.
To the tune of Yellow Submarine, against the spanners in '66 or '67

    Jumpers for goalposts eh?

    There was the evergreen
'if I had the wings of a sparrow'

    And of course
'I hear the sounds of distant bums'

    The lively
'who's that copper with the helmet on'

    Related to a great player
    'Sha-la-la-la Fir-man-i'

    Not forgetting
    'I was bor-orn under the Cov-verd End'

We’ve not sung ‘back to the valley’ since 1992 for some reason

It definitely hasn't, probably one of the most sung unfortunately. Do you mean allez allez allez? Both are shite so easily mixed up.

Sweet Molly Malone was a regular song in the 70's early 80's

Also We will follow the Charlton, over land and sea

He's here, he's there, he's every F@cking where (insert name) wouldn't apply to anyone last season :)

"Big fat big fat Pete ..."

    "9 goals went past.Perry ..."

What would be really novel would be to make up a song of an obscure player from years ago and sing it on the terraces now!  ...

I'm sure, for example we could find a catchy number for that midfield collosus Andy Peake .... Or a memorable ditty for that prolific goal machine that was ...Simon Church!

Was that when you were at University?
  • And we’ll really shake ‘em up when we win the FA Cup cos Charlton is the greatest football team

And now you’re gonna believe us, we’re gonna win the league

    Alouetta chante Alouetta

We're not the West Ham we're not the Millwall we're the Charlton covered end

There once was a policeman, his name was pc Jim, he walked around the covered end and got his head kicked in, he wore a brand new helmet,  and much to his surprise a dirty little skinhead came and kicked him in the eyes. Queue laughter.

    One of my favourite chants and it’s a testimony to how much of a simpleton I am is;

“Charrrrllllton, Charlton Charlton, CHARLTON CHARLTON CHARLTON!!!”

Chanted as you arrive on the rattler away from home, in pubs and in the away end in general.  I remember after we went 1 up at Brentford one time we chanted it within seconds of scoring, loved that, think it should be done more.

As for AFKA original post, I want that chant to remain as history, can’t stand spurs and Southampton doing it to be honest!

Our fortunes have nosedived since “we’re gonna bounce in a minute” started to vanish from the songbook.
Thank god that’s started to vanish, although heard it at Ipswich
  • Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner that I love London Town
  • We’re see you all outside,
  • Knees up mother brown
  • Yipy Ki A, Yipy Ki Oh....
Is it ‘ki’ ? Thought it was more like ‘yippy-i-a ... yippy-a-o’ ?

Show them the way to go home
They’re tired and they want to go to bed
Cos they’ve only half a football team
And the rest are f…ing dead
