The last 2 laps of the Indy 500 were more interesting than the whole of Monaco was.
Maybe it's best suited to Formula E now.0 -
Even by the standards of the newer corcuits where overtaking is a pipedream this was as boring an event as I can remember. Formula 1 need to bin this race off and go back to hosting motor races. That's what the race director said to Tito Wolff anyway "we are in the business of motor racing"
Hold some races where people can overtake each other then0 -
It's seems F1 track designers have got confused. They really need to look at scalextric. In the toy you can overtake everywhere apart from a few select areas where these is a chicane or a crossover. F1 is the polar opposite, where you can't overtake anywhere apart from maybe one or two corners and an artificially created DRS zone designed to overcome the inherent flaws in the track design0

sam3110 said:Absolute borefest, as per usual. At least in the Indy 500 where they just follow eachother around and turn left for 200 laps there is strategy and the crashes are spectacular. Mick Schumacher managed to rip the ass off the Haas I suppose, but it did little to improve the overall show.
Run it as a one off invitational event that's not part of the championship, but sack it off from the main calender
No doubt he will cling on for ten times longer than any other driver.0 -
If Haas did ditch Mick , I wonder what direction they would go? Giovinazzi has had a bit of a nightmare season in Formula E but could be a solid pair of hands alongside KMag. Don't think there's anyone in the Ferrari academy that's ready yet, they're mainly F3/F4 drivers at the moment.0

Get rid.0 -
It‘s beginning to look like Red Bull no longer need the FIA to win the championship, just let Ferrari screw up their tactics time and time again!0

His Dad was saying to me he probably needs to win it this year to be kept at the top table by Ferrari.1 -

Artur Leclerc is still with Ferrari, yet into his second F3 season, and still doesnt overly impress me...
Another potential kid who is being kept around thanks to his name perhaps0 -
Did anyone else notice the bloke in the crowd during qualifying wearing our black 3rd kit shirt from last season - rotund chap with a bald head1

Ferrari's appeal got rejected (Max's wheel potentially crossed the line before the pit exit) as the wheel didnt completely cross the line - Feels like the FIA have potentially opened a can of worms for themselves in the future.1 -

And of course, once again, RedBull benefited. Not saying it’s a fix, but by christ they are a lucky team.
And to add to the irritation, Horner comes out and says he’s “disappointed” that Ferrari appealed. Like if it was the other way round he would’ve let it go.
The man is a monumental wanker.4 -

Nothing against RB though... But maybe the rule should be different in Monaco given the tightness and extra danger involved.
I doubt it'll be a problem going forward though, as cant imagine there being a driver who'll be silly enough to take the marginal risk of trying to have an extra bit of track for that reason - Its not like Max did it deliberately either, yet lost control of the car slightly in the wet.0 -
The thing I can't believe is how monumentally stupid Ferrari's strategy team appears to be, time and time again, and has been since the Alonso days, which carried through the Vettel days, and now the Leclerc days. Several times they've had one of, if not the fastest car on the grid, and they constantly throw victories away with rubbish pit calls.5

Regularly produce the fastest pit stops and their tactics seem to pull them out of holes they find themselves in.2 -

Have to massively agree on Arthur Leclerc, I haven't seen anything to suggest that he's anywhere near the talent of his brother. Think if he didn't have the name he wouldn't be Ferrari affiliated.
The other one bar Ollie that I think is going to worth keeping an eye on is Jack Crawford, think Red Bull would love to have a young fast American prospect come through.1 -

He's neither Ferrari or Red Bull, but Antonelli looks an star in the making through the Mercedes Programme - Wont be surprised if we'll see a Russell / Antonelli pairing one day, similar to the Russell / Hamilton one we're seeing now - Although dont expect George to be anywhere near as successful as Lewis.1 -
I don't want Perez to win for one totally justifiable reason - because everybody started calling him Checo. Like they're best mates with him. Maybe I missed it but I had never heard anyone call him that until the end of last season. Then suddenly that was his name. I'm not having it. I hope he loses!2

I'm so pleased they've started to use subtitles for the races this year.

Unfortunately Ferrari are just not reliable enough, Red bull will win this season by some distance1

Yeah very drab race again at Baku this year
Carbon copy of last year - The only difference, was the fact we got very late drama last time, in what was largely uneventful.
Shame as the F2 racing was nuts again... Shows why a lot of those kids will never make the final step up!!
Looking forward to Canada next weekend.1 -
Hamilton looked to be in a lot of discomfort getting out of his car. If the grounding is causing that much damage, I wonder if he’ll need to miss a race at some point.1
-
Another great result for George Russell. If Mercedes can sort the car out, him and Lewis will start to rip the other teams a new one.2

Speaking of F2 , I see Amaury Cordeel has got a race ban for too many penalty points and Bolukbasis father had an altercation with Nissany in the paddock.1 -
After a really exciting start to the season I can’t help but feel it’s really lost the fun over the past month or so. The tracks have been poor and there’s been no real challenge to Red Bull of note.
Fair play to Max, he’s really capitalised and made hay whilst the sun has shone on him.The Mercedes car looks borderline dangerous to drive, the state of Hamilton getting out and moving away from it today was horrendous. They need to sort it out, fast.2 -

As for Nissany, he made me laugh when he complained about idiots on the road when he crashed... Pot / Kettle1 -

Had to check the feeder series Reddit to find out about Caldwell and apparently he's on 9! Must be bringing one hell of a cheque to Alpine to be " part" of their academy.
Still surprised Nissany is Williams affiliated when someone like Drugovich is a free agent.1 -

Something needs to be done to stop this - constant driving in a car that does that will have health implications in later life - akin to heading a football etc1
