Had a few "moments" but another boring race and was obvious Sainz was never even going to try and get by Verstappen. Think Sky F1 do a good job but annoys me when the commentators try and make it seem more exciting than it really is, just self interest in keeping people watching when it is, pretty much, a procession.0

I guess after possibly the best season ever we should just accept that this one is going to be rubbish!

Apart from the opening laps of the first race of the season that showed so much promise.
I am a returning F1 fan after lapsing due to boredom but have been very disappointed. After the first race this season I was excited at what was in store especially after the changes but boy its a tough watch.
I have already given up watching the races live now, I just watch the hi-lights and that is tough going.2 -

Glad of it now and am looking forward to going away far more.1 -

Been a good week for Pierre Gasly... Gets his seat confirmed for 2023 with AlphaTauri
Now Juri Vips has been suspended by Red Bull after a stupid comment whilst twitch streaming, cant see anyway back for him with them after that. They certainly didnt mess around getting rid of Dan Ticktum for not towing the line.
Not that Vips really stood a chance of getting into F1, nor do many of the other Red Bull Juniors at present.2 -
Expecting the current F1 season to live up to the last is like expecting every Charlton game to be as good as the '98 play-off final.
You've got to go back to Prost vs Senna in the late 80s to find a season as like last year's.1 -

Vips has been incredibly stupid but as you say , there wasn't ever really a route for him to F1. Think the next RB Junior you might see get a chance is Dennis Hauger in 2024 , although Issac Hajidar in F3 has looked quite impressive1 -
Saw one of the most remarkable things in all my years of being a car / motorsport enthusiast today. The McMurty fan car that broke the Goodwood hill climb record. It was literally fucking ridiculous.

Nelson Piquet living up to his reputation of being a monumental tosser I see. Also a weak as piss response from F1 who seem to have lost the ability to type his name. If you are gonna condemn him - then condemn him in person. Otherwise dont bother.2

Brilliant!

Piquet always was a bit obnoxious, and someone who liked to wind up other drivers, for example calling Senna gay. Not forgetting when he tried to drop kick another driver (Boessel?) after a collision. Not a pleasant person.3

Piquet is essentially Max Verstappens Father In Law - and in the paddock is Jos (Max's scummy Dad's) right hand man.
We now have the Piquet family, including Max's GF Kelly Piquet, defending Nelson on social media.
Max will clearly face a barrage of questions at Silverstone.
Something about the Verstappen family around associating with total shits. First of all Max's Dad is a wife beater. Now his Father in Law a racist. And his missus has basically jumped on every driver in the paddock.
Lovely Family.....3 -

I'd be surprised if Vips is running this weekend, would expect Hitech to follow suit and drop him.1 -
All Max can do at this point is just answer any questions about it with "I'm just here to race"1

No reason to stay silent - as the World Champion he has the potential to be a very positive influence here if he wanted.2 -

You think he's going to go against his girlfriend and future father in law so soon? No chance, he'll just ignore the questions for now0

Says a lot about Max as a human being unfortunately. My Father In Law is a racist bastard. I am more than happy to say that - dont care if he is my wife's Dad.0 -
It shows the standards being set by Hamilton and Vettel really.
The younger drivers are all showing their talent on the track.
But apart from Russell (what with him taking on the early role as head of the GDPA), it feels as though none of them want to be brave enough to tackle any of the controversial talking points.
When the senior figures depart the grid - Who will step into their shoes? - Maybe I'm being harsh, and once the likes of Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris mature, they themselves will change in that regard.
Although it feels that when you become a World Champion, the desire to trot out "Im only here to race" stance, sticks even less - Having that title, and respect, should be giving you the platform to speak out on things like this0 -

All he can do is say nothing, because he will have been backed into a corner by a number of people about it. There isn't another option for him, there are too many negatives for him both professionally and personally for it to be feasible and realistic for him to speak up about it right now.
But I'm sure you see it as just another way he's a c**t, because the anti Max brigade out in full force, as per usual.
If this was any other driver on the grid, they'd either not be expected to speak out about it either and will toe the "I'm here to race" line, or they'll have nothing to lose by saying it, because they won't be as ingrained in the story as Max currently is.0 -

And a massive coward to boot.3 -
But can't you see why he's probably going to say nothing? And it's not just cowardice, it's the predicament he is in, being entwined in the family so closely already. He's in a lose lose situation. He says something, he's probably ruining his personal life, for the short term at least. He says nothing, the media and people that don't like him already jump all over the fact he refuses to say anything about it.
I don't envy him right now, that's for sure1
