Another to Saini. Billings 5th catch.
191-8 and a lead of 26
Hain is still there on 81*3 -
5th wicket for Saini and 6th catch for Billings
197-9 and a lead of 322 -
Unless there are some late call ups for that other comp, we should suffer less than a lot of other counties and could see something like this as our starting line up for the first game in the Royal London:
Compton
Muyeye
Denly
Blake
Robinson
Stevens
Linde
Stewart
Quinn
Saini
Gilchrist
Others potentially available:
Logan
Singh
Possibly out through injury:
O'Riordan
Podmore
Qadri
In The Hundred:
Billings
Crawley
DBD
Milnes
Klaassen
Cox

From the BBC - That's Billings' seventh catch of the innings, equalling his own best. But it's not a Kent record - Steve Marsh twice took eight in an innings.

Compton out for 5. His Bradmanesque form seems to have faded a bit...0
-
90-3 so, effectively, 30-3
Crawley and DBD out0 -
Anyone know what Jack Leaning’s stats for this season? Bar that 100, I can’t recall him doing much.0

137-4 and a lead of 771
-
198-4 at close and a lead of 138
Denly 70* (149)
Cox 40* (80)
If we can get a lead of 250 then with Henry & Saini in the attack we have a chance of getting a much needed win.2 -
Has the pitch flattened out, or is it a "survive the new ball then make hay" type of game, as per many this summer?0

Lots of transfer news coming very soon and at the end of the season..0

Kent 2s have just finished their Championship game against Surrey. Sadly, they lost by an innings and 68 runs.
Main positives were the fact that Gilchrist came through 25 overs and picked up some wickets, that Muyeye hit another ton and that 16 year old Vish Parakirama scored 77 opening.
The difference in the sides, though, wasn't just the batting. It was in the spin department. We went in with one part time spinner and that was Muyeye (34-4-101-1) - missing were O'Riordan and Qadri (both injured) and Logan (not sure why). By comparison, Surrey had Virdi who returned figures in the game of 44.3-1-161-12 and who was supported by Moriarty (46-7-143-3).
Linde has been desperately disappointing (12-733) and with the lack of viable alternatives, we've ended up going into the 1s game with a couple of part timers. On this wicket, that might not be so much of an issue but I would hope that we are scouring for alternatives next season as the likelihood is that at least one, if not more, of our spinners will be leaving.

Realistically @Addick Addict who do you see leaving the club ? Been told to Expect news soon regarding players leaving but it feels weird expecting it all to be announced mid season !0

The difficulty is not knowing how long their respective contracts are but, assuming that they can leave at the end of the season, I would guess (and it is a guess)
Probable - Logan, Qadri, Robinson, Stewart, Stevens
Possible - O'Riordan, Milnes, Podmore, Klaassen
Outsiders - Crawley, Denly, Cox, Blake, Linde, Leaning
Unlikely - Billings, DBD, Compton, Muyeye, Gilchrist, Quinn, Singh

I think the significant aspect is that, as far as I'm aware, there hasn't been any announcements about players extending their contracts. That is probably a reflection of both the Club and some of the better players seeing how the season unfolds.0

If no further rain, play to re-start at 2.250

Denly 129* (237)

Dare I say it but we are in a pretty strong position.
Having said that we have constantly screwed up in a 1000 & 1
different ways this season…..are we about to see 1000 & 2?
A win here is vital, goes without saying. 🤞
All above is dependent on weather of course.0 -
305-5 Cox out for 790
-
Denly out for 14
321-6 and a lead of 2610 -
