Incredible moments from unheralded players

1:48 into this, Tomer Hemed of all people produced maybe the best bit of defending I've ever seen from a Charlton player. I still have no idea how he managed to do it, and from the nominal position of striker too

  • Akpo Sodje goal against Leeds 09/10. Probably 2nd favourite Valley moment since dropping out the Premier League ( Dont care that it went down as OG)

Let's say right away that, say, the Llera goal against Swindon is slightly too heralded to get onto this thread, as a benchmark. Also, particularly interested in things that aren't goals. Assists, tackles, passes, skillz, goalline saves, acts of violence - all very welcome. Oh and I probably mean Charlton players

He had the Millwall in the snow game of course, but to the wider world Kim Grant's goal at Anfield was a real eyeopener

Adam Matthews run and cross at Pompey last season.

Was it our 3rd or 4th goal in the 5-2 against AFC Wimbledon that had all the greats, Gunter, Watson, Williams and Maddison involved?

Best save I have ever seen live..... was sitting right behind the bottom corner that header was going into and to this day I still dont know how he saved it.

Peter Shirtliff in the play off final at Birmingham.

Not for the match-winning goals, but for kneeing that **** Baird in the back of his nut!

Lepoint's assist on his debut, turned out to be the peak of his Charlton career.

    Yes

My dad told me it was like Banks save from Pele and I wasn't going to disagree with him, no idea how he got to that. Brendan O'Connell, as average as he was for us was immense that day and even gave that ginger twunt Hopkin a swipe as well

My own contribition is courtesy of Benjamin J Watson at the final whistle in the away game last season.

The game ended in our penalty area. Firstly Ben Purrington got a load of totally unwarranted gob from a pack of rabid Gillingham youth who then gave some to Watson too, who beautifully responded by smiling at all of them, pointing to them one at a time saying "your mum" which inflamed them to hilarious levels. He then pointed to the gobbiest, shriekiest one and gave the international signage for being given a blowjob indicating that little toads mother had given him some mouth action.

Didn't think much of him as a player for us, legs too far gone, quality was clearly still there but body unable to do it. As a man however, nothing but love!

Not suggesting Powell was unheralded per se but perhaps for that

It completely passed me by the Lawrie Madden played for Millwall for a short period of time after he left us and before he played over 200 games for Sheffield Wednesday. You can take the Madden out of Charlton but not the Charlton out of Madden - watch from 1.40 onwards to see what I mean:
