Unfortunately I’m old enough to remember them, possibly on the Val Doonican or Des O’connor show!Lincsaddick said:1 -

Brilliant, but is it a song as such?eastterrace6168 said:I think ‘j’ is still open.0 -
Not "a song" in the strictest sense of the word, no, but a bit of a grey area at the time after a couple of instrumentals passed muster without a hitch, so I thought apparently wrongly that they were now permitted, so, no more instrumentals, eh??...long as we all know...seth plum said:

Brilliant "tune" though...

I must’ve had my eye off the ball regarding pure instrumentals slipping through.eastterrace6168 said:

Doh.
The ‘can they deliver’ question definitely applies here in terms of vocals, especially as live music can be coloured by so much technology.0 -
My dear departed parents loved the Bachelors. You could find every one of their hits amongst their collection of Mrs Mills, Shep's Banjo Boys, and Engelbert Humperdinck records. On reflection I think it drove me to rock and roll and the Blues.
One thing that surprised me though - having researched them again on Spotify. I remember all their hits very well except their version of Sound of Silence. I then noticed that a version of the Simon and Garfunkel song by Disturbed has been viewed 829 million times on Youtube - I'd never even heard of it!
It just goes to show how much time is wasted used up when surfing the net.

live bands don't get any better than this .. my extensive research tells me that the band, with the exception of the super keyboard guy, are all Californians, the drummer is Abe Laboriel Jnr .. I bet Abe Senior is a bat outta hell of a drummer ((:>) ..eastterrace6168 said:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9iEa2IEj38

Two for the price of one, generally can't beat an original but I do like a bit of Donna.

I bloody love this song. The live version could have been a car crash but it's not at all bad - some excellent sitting-down stagecraft from Mr Harris!sillav nitram said:1 -

Difficult to match up to the recorded version but considering his reputation he looks sober, unless that’s why he fell to the floor?
I quite like Donna’s version too, her voice is pretty good live.0 -
