Adding post match stuff here too…

I think that was one of the best, most insightful and honest post match interviews I have seen in a long time.
I will add that Robinson, Bowyer, Adkins and Jackson all sounded so refreshing after their first 2 or 3 games because they were so different to their predecessors. Who most people had had enough of.2 -

Well, he definitely has a brain.
He loves his job and is already fully invested in it.

Some honesty from Garner but he made no acknowledgement of his selection being at the root of so much that was wrong first half hour.Callumcafc said:Adding post match stuff here too…

BG is erudite and confidence inspiring to me as a fan. He must surely be inspiring our players too.
Early days, but I've got a good feeling about the team under his leadership.3 -

I never like managers criticising officials because it always feels a bit sour grapes, even if they are awful, but I honestly think Garner is right on the money here with what happened in the second half.

But he will get done for saying the ref isn’t ready for this level. Mangerial equiv of a needless red card. I’m furious about the tackle on CBT, but Steve Brown for one didnt think the ref was that bad overall. Imagine what Ben would have said if he had been in charge when our old mate sent off Naby in the first minute. Quite surprised, really, thought Garner would be more measured.FishCostaFortune said:I never like managers criticising officials because it always feels a bit sour grapes, even if they are awful, but I honestly think Garner is right on the money here with what happened in the second half.0 -
We sit behind the dugouts and he was quite rightly extremely annoyed by refs performance. He was complaining at the oppo playing the man not the ball when they went up for headers, and the inability of the ref to protect our players. When CBT was injured it looks like he said it was the officials fault as they weren’t strong enough. To be fair the ref could quite easily have sent off at least two of their players.Usually he doesn’t bother the 4th official, so perhaps he had a case ?3

Steve Brown thinks and says a lot of things, and many of them are very good observations, however I feel he is wrong on this. That second half performance from the ref was so unbelievably poor, and I’m glad something was said as it was ultimately the players on the pitch who were put at risk by it.PragueAddick said:

Sat in the West Stand for the QPR cup match and Garner or one of our other coaches were constantly in the ear of the forth official.billysboots said:We sit behind the dugouts and he was quite rightly extremely annoyed by refs performance. I wholeheartedly agree with Garner about today’s ref though- as my neighbour in North Upper will testify!0 -
The Swindon fans did point out he is a ref basherPragueAddick said:

The ref was appalling. Their 18 lost the ball; turned around and steppd forwards and walked back and kicked Clayden around the legs as if it was in a school playground kick about and only got a yellow which was bemusing by today's standards.

If Clayden rolled around on the floor and our players got in the refs face, it would surely have been a red.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:The ref was appalling. People moan that players behave that way but why can't the ref make the correct decision without it?1 -
