We are such a weird team!
Or have we found the formation that works?
442? All the armchair coaches will tell you it’s old fashioned and will never work, better to play no forwards and to dick around with it at the back until you f**k it up Zzzzzz

Nice interception from Egbo, when it looks like Pompey have a good break.

I’m not complaining because I’ll take getting promoted from this league at all costs but Garner does appear to have abandoned his philosophy in possession in favour of a more direct counter attacking approach.

Fraser nudges Morrell over about 15 yards out and they have a free kick.

He's still got us playing nice football, just not in his preferred formation, because he accepts they don't suit it.

RHF has a shot from a LONG way out and Wollacott drops easily on the ball.

As happens, we're playing worse against 10 players

Lucky for us that the Portsmouth team turned up drunk.

We looked utter dog shit a week or so ago and now Exeter and this.
Garner has to come out with credit here. A big turnaround like that after a poor run is great managing, especially given this is exactly the same squad that looked so poor.

"Fraser there to tidy up" is a phrase I didn't think I'd hear often.

    And it's AMAZING

He's been better than Dobson today at both attacking and defending.

Dobson has been very good at intercepting, but his passing has been as erratic as his tackling.

Taken our foot right off the pedal - Doesnt help we've lost our nippy wide players

And Portsmouth playing better with 10. Very odd.

More pressure Pompey means Payne concedes a corner on our right, but it goes out of play before it gets into the 6 yard box.

Not sure that is a good idea.

Wont be happy if Chuks gets injured. No need to risk him surely.
  • 4-0, we want 4-0.  Come on Chucks.

Stockley off, Chuks on. Sessegnon off, Clare on.

  • Cmon the Chuks…big 13mins from him now,let’s hope he lasts it…🤞🏻
  • Shame in a way that Aneke has replaced Stockley

Remember them playing together when we beat Lincoln 3-1 a few years ago (right at the end of the season), and they terrorised the defence.

Shame... I'd have given Campbell a run out tonight - Sensible though to take off the more important First Team players and give them a rest where possible though

And now Fraser off, McGrandles on.

I don't think it's the formation as much as the players we are able to get on the pitch.
