  • Great effort to pull things back at the end. The one worry is how well Rashid bowled, given that Sri Lanka have a lot of spin options. But we're still in this and you'd normally fancy chasing 142 even against a good bowling side.

Curran is suxha  good limited overs bowler these days.

I think the Hundred has obviously done gret things for him.

Bowling in the IPL has helped him enormously

It has, my comment was very tongue in cheek.

His death bowling at this WC will do wonders for his price in the next IPL too!
  • Is there an equation where we can finish top.say knock these off in 12 overs?

Won't make a difference, but 3rd ump has got that wrong

If there's doubt it's not out.
  • Surely the spike was from the bat hitting the ground, rather than the bat hitting the ball?

Nah, cannot tell of that is bat/ball or bat/ground.

Looked like ground to me. Not enough proof either way to turn over whichever way the original call went

    That how i saw it.
And so did the 3rd umpire

England would’ve needed to chase the target in 6.2 overs to overcome the NRR difference to New Zealand and top the group.

Means that, if they finish the job here, their semi final will be on Thursday in Adelaide.

Just need to see off Hasaranga and it’ll be plain sailing after he completes his overs.

We need the M***n pairing out there to finish the job. @Leuth ‘s favourite half is at the crease now.

Why are we trying to finish it quickly - pushing around singles will do the trick and the occasional boundary
  • Never make it completely simple, do we?!

If we lose this when all we need to do is knock it around for 1's & 2's the players had better stay in Oz and never come home.

Need less than a run a ball. No need to try to slog the quick's first ball.

England win probability still 94% but unnecessarily dropped from what would’ve been near enough 99.9% five or six overs ago.

Do these figures ever account for nerves & players just panicking.

I'd say win ratio is more like 60/40 in Englands favour.
