  • Does he play the guitar? If not then my absence from the Valley will continue. I only attend when TS plays us some tunez! (I jest of course)

Roland laughing at me after the TS takeover was so justified now. He foresaw all this sitting collecting his rent laughing all the way to the bank. He did say he would have the last laugh. We should never have stopped the pressure on the old git.

    Breaks my heart.

until I hear news on the length of his contract then I believe he’s just in as caretaker manager until the new gang takeover BUT if we suddenly win our next six games then they may give him a shot but I’m sure TS has hired him short term.
  • Angry Northerner, didn't Smile once! Maybe he might get a tune out of our shit squad?

Fucking hell. What else is there to say?

    Don't tell me.

thought he spoke pretty well, whatever the situation at the club - any new manager needs to be backed with a clean slate and I wish him all the best
    I agree.

Anyone can talk the talk. The issue is can they walk the walk. To me both Adkins & Garner said a lot but ultimately it all fell apart on the pitch.

    I want actions not words.
  • So, Sandgaard said there was an external candidate they spoke to about being caretaker manger, but contract negotiations didn't go well (or words to that effect). Holden says in his interview that "It's been bubbling away on the background for a while".

Then there is no mention of how long his contract is.

Seems pretty clear to me that he is our "external" caretaker manager and that this is a temporary thing to bridge us to the completion of a takeover. Someone, probably the prospective new owners, have decided that we can't be going into the Christmas fixtures with Harness in charge and more experienced and safer pair of hands needs to be in pace to try and stop the ship sinking any further, otherwise it could be complete submerged by the time the takeover is complete.
I don't think even TS is stupid enough to put our 22 year old Goalkeeper in charge of running the team!
Yep, it's got that bad I don't even know the name of our caretaker manager. I hangs my head in shame.

They all look good in these kinds of interviews, they all sound the same. I wouldn't place much value in them, it's a bit like the 'best bits' clips of incoming players, they all look world beaters in those.

In his interview, he comes across with a fighting temperament, which I like. Bowyer had the same.

I guess Dean is the cheapest option possible.
Though I do feels orly for him, as he has very chance of success with this squad.

You say that, but Matt Southall looked far from good when he did one of these interviews!
  • Uninspired and not really sure I trust this lot. Time will tell.

Sounds like he is going to play more direct so that's Sandgaard's grand footballing vision out of the window.

That'd make for a fascinating interview, if nothing else.

Could there be a word missing here?
  • Was a centre half in his playing days. Quite what he’ll make of Ryan Inniss and Sam Lavelle is anyone’s guess. If there is money to spend in January I hope those two are out the door sharpish.

I don’t know much about our new manager
    Neil Holden.
and I have never heard of Andy Scott.
but no doubt when they get no fucking support from our wanker of an owner TS and Idiot Gobshite son, they too will be sacked and we will be heading for league 2. 🤩👎👎👎👎
    Clearly.
Clearly? I wish it was all clear but sadly
Clarity is not often on the Charlton agenda
🤣🤣🤣 maybe our latest manager is a
          Future Hero ?

Sorry for him. Though poorly could do as well as manager after manager is getting to me.

Which is why we should at least afford him a modicum of time to start his job.
  • Give a bit of thought to this before posting. Perhaps given our circumstances the appointment of Holden isn’t such a bad thing. Looks to have pretty traditional footballing ethos and has definite views on what he wants. In recent times we’ve had Garnerball which although I liked the idea of, BG just didn’t have the quality of players to make it work. JJ was I think in the end too inexperienced and perhaps too close to the players and club to make it work. Holden comes in fresh and I’ve no doubt with some assurances of support. As to whether there’s more going on behind the scenes I’ve no idea.

If it means the end of tippy tappy at the back by players who can neither  pass nor control the ball properly then Holden will be an upgrade on Garner.

Anyway for the Benefit of any doubt
I genuinely wish DEAN Holden our new manager the very best of luck as it will not be easy working for our Failed Musician and Football expert TS.
  • He said all the right things, the right things being different from the "right things" being said in the summer.

Cut out or at least reduce the defensive howlers, and we might start winning some games again

I found it difficult concentrating on that interview. My eyes were drawn to the rivulets of blood oozing out of that Charlton badge and I just kept wondering if this was a horror film of the death throws of Charlton.

Gotta give the guy a chance. Hes come in to a club with a crackpot owner and playing staff massively unconfident so has a hell of a job on his hands.

Like the fact he wants to make us more direct and not so possession based...we certainly have the attacking players for that.

Do hope he is backed in January though by whoever is in charge.
