InspectorSands said:Britons Protection on Great Bridgewater Street - close to Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop - is a wonderful little ale/whisky pub which serves until midnight. The Peverel of the Peak, a little further back towards the city centre, is another lovely old boozer.
If you've booked into the Travelodge at "Manchester Central" (just on the Salford side of the river) you're near another great old-school, very off-the-beaten-track pub called the Eagle Inn.Fierce Beers on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter is great, as is the Castle on Oldham Street. And get a burger in Almost Famous. You can't really go wrong in the Northern Quarter. Rose & Monkey further up is good - they also do Indian food by This Charming Naan.Within (extended) walking distance of OT and Salford Quays hotels: Seven Brothers in Media City - pretty much next to the tram stop - which is a great craft beer place.1 -
Apparently we’re heading for place called the directors box. That’s a bar and not in the ground, so no photos of anyone who could be buying us.3

Will there be lots of us drinking at Salford keys do people think or will everyone be at Deansgate0

Both I should imagine.0

Will we be locked in at OT after the final whistle & if so for how long?
with 9K+ Addicks there & prob 50% staying overnight is the best way into centre
via Tram after the match, forecast looks torrential rain !
Going to take tram from Deansgate to OT & get in early.........0 -

holyjo said:Will there be lots of us drinking at Salford keys do people think or will everyone be at DeansgateThat’s definitely what I’m doing. Plus as its walking distance to the ground should also take out the hassle of trying to get the ground from the city ahead of the game.1

For those with a bit of time to spare the Science and Industry museum is pretty good.....the wife went there on one of our visits to MU.4

looked into it & they let Man City fans out same time, if match gone ok
so unless Addicks win.....16-1 odds...we will be out with 60K Manc's
and then its a pain getting back into central Manc on tram so a walk or if luckily a taxi
shame its going to be typical Northern weather.....heavy rain all day all night0 -

So my daughter has fallen ill and is unlikely to bounce back quickly enough for tomorrows trip. We were due to stay over in Manchester and come back the following day.
On the Wednesday I had booked us the 10am Stadium tour, it would be a shame for these to go to waste so if anyone could make use of a stadium tour ticket for an adult and one under 16 at 10 am please drop me a message.

Forecast is the rain finally stops completely around 9pm tomorrow so at least we won’t get wet after a spanking!0

14 of us having dinner at the Beefeater next door to the Premier Inn in the Quays where some of us are staying.
Table/s booked for 5pm as was told it will be stuffed around 6pm & it'll take around an hour for main courses to be served.
Happy to drink there as we'll have a 15 & a 7 year old with us, although some will be driving back after the match.1 -

We'll be having a few around Deansgate and will then head over to Salford Quays around 4.00pm - avoids the packed trams if we leave it any later. The Beefeater sounds good but shout out where you're drinking.
