Conor Wickham pay as you play deal sounds too sensible for Cafc ?
If Aneke was on that deal Cafc paid Chuks for 5 minutes in the last month !

Apparently Mcgrandles decision to leave Lincoln was based on his wish to move back to Scotland. This was greeted with understanding with most of the Lincoln fans.
That understanding changed to dislike of the player when he then ended up at Charlton.1 -

It does help shape the squad a bit better if we recruit those, but it will be 5 out and 4 in if you include JFC with the offers for DJ, Lavelle, Stockley and Kirk. Assume MacG will go too. Now I don't think anybody thought our squad was top heavy (maybe 1 too many in central midfield if you really wanted to argue), but Wickham in and Stockley out is in theory better, IF it's not the injury prone Conor Wickham. If the injury prone Wickham comes in we are left with Leaburn and Kanu.
That isn't good. In no shape or form.

Any recent examples of players on one of them?
To me they feel like they are talked about a lot, alongside player swap deals, but never seem to happen.6 -
Two weeks ago I was fearing relegation. Regardless of what happens between now and the end of the window I’m fairly certain that top six isn’t a possibility. On that basis all I’m looking for are some sensible signings to guarantee our league one status and perhaps start the foundation building for next season.7

"Pay as you Play" assume would be low basic salary, and then high appearance fees to make up his expected salary, provided he plays enough games.

Most of those sound fairly plausible signings except the Connor Wickham one. He was on a short term deal at Forest Green and had been playing regularly and scored a few goals. They wanted to keep him but he chose to leave. You'd have to assume he had other offers lined up or why would he turn down their offer? And no player in their right mind is turning down a proper contract to sign a deal where they might get injured next week and not receive a penny.0
