Giving Stockley the armband was one of the worst footballing decisions we've made in recent years.
I honestly think Stockley puts in 100%. He was a bad choice for captain but I can see why he was chosen for his off field behaviour. He seems to be a leader off the pitch.
Let’s be honest though, both can go. Their time here has realistically come to an end.3 -

Kirk does it too at times, but Stockley is worse.
He constantly whinges at his team mates for not playing it to him, even when double or triple marked. They know how bad his touch is and his finishing.
If anyone thinks Stockley has given 100% in any game since Washington went, they're wrong.6 -

I'll applaud him, he's not Lyle Taylor after all. I met him once at the Olive Tree (?) in Sidcup and he was happy to chat to us for a while, very pleasant and amiable and probably the most well spoken player I've ever met. Man of the match for Wimbledon tonight - a very good all round performance. He’s good on the ground for a big fella and there are very few if any better in the air….Glad to see him working with Jacko - he suffered under some truly inept managers during his time with us - Garner and Adkins at the top of that list.12

A cross from out wide and he buried it with aplomb but the trouble at Charlton and why he got frustrated and threw his arms about was the ball that was hoofed down field well above his head.
As Large said above he was such a genial gentle giant and when I met him at a National trust property in Sussex a few years ago with his wife, daughters and new born boy, we chatted about the Renaissance period and Johnnie Jackson!

I was apoplectic. He was never technical or mobile enough to do it but we actually signed him to play that role under Adkins. Sandgaard said he wanted a 'high-pressing, possession-based' style of football and we had Stockley playing with Scott Fraser behind him.NabySarr said:

I'm not sure he's a good League One striker - he's not been pulling up any trees in League Two. This season will be telling. If he can't do it under Jacko, he can't do it.0 -
In fairness he’s only played one season in league 2 recently and he hit double figures. Every other year he’s been in league 1. I’d say League 1 is definitely his level, maybe “good” is a bit strong but definitely a solid player at that level in the right style/setupChunes said:

I think Stockley is a great fit for Wimbledon IF when the ball goes wide, it subsequently goes in the box. Seddon is a good crosser. They can be a hard watch Wimbledon but they are effective in a similar low margin way we are2

Him being a 'good' league one striker is open for debate but he is definitely more than capable though if he gets the right service.
He is 33 soon and now in his 17th year as a pro, so he's had a pretty solid career.0 -
Genuinely our most underrated striker in the last decade. Was dreadful under Garner in the complete wrong system but before that season he scored 21 in 55 which top of my head makes him what our 4th best striker in terms of goal scoring in the last 10 years behind May, Godden, and Taylor.Problem is to get the best out of him you had to play a really boring style of play and the player himself isn’t exactly fun to watch. If you used him correctly though at L1 level I couldn’t name many players I would want at the end of a high cross into the box.0

It was 20 goals, 7 of them coming against Southampton & Villa u21s, Gateshead and Havant & Waterlooville. 13 in 33 league games is a very decent return, but let’s be honest, he was crap at football.Crispywood said:Genuinely our most underrated striker in the last decade. He was fine, did exactly what we signed him to do. He had his confidence eroded by us whacking balls into channels for him to chase and then when we dropped high balls for him out midfield stubbornly refused to attack the second balls and knock downs, that stubbornness stretched to our wide players who decided putting the ball into the box was a stupid idea when we have a centre forward whose game was all about attacking those exact deliveries
Compared to Pawel Abbot, David Mooney, Simon Church, Chuks, goal returns and performances he did ok despite our best efforts to not play to his strengths2 -
