Zak will be dropped by England for batting too sensibly!

Seriously in a low scoring game, it's good to see him grinding out the runs

Middlesex having a real go of it - 4-4  :|
Wonder when the last time was that all of the top four managed ducks?
A decent top 4 too, 3 with Test caps

The difference today is that he's earned himself the right to get a big score by being circumspect for the first 20 overs or so. He will always have the ability to catch up but what he can't do is give it the charge in the first couple of overs when the ball is as its most dangerous as he did in the Essex game.

222 all out and a useful lead of 105 but probably should have been more

Got to be fairly satisfied with how it is going.
Without being too pessimistic, the two games against Northants will go a long way to deciding our season.

Managed to get along for the first session today - Northants slowly chipping away at that deficit which is down to 16.

DBD comes on just before lunch and it's a wicket maiden. 109/4 and a lead of 4

At the start of the game I think that we'd have taken Northants, effectively, being 4-4 in their second innings. Important we finish the job now.

There's a bit of a lack of respect to DBD going on here and I'm not talking about me! Both his wickets were loose efforts from the batsmen. The more they do that the better for us.
