ok so that's blackpool out of the promotion running , oh no he's a good squad player
I must admit, that had to be my funniest saying on here when we were discussing who should stay and go in recent months.  We’d have a squad made up of 22 squad players if it were up to some people

Bloody hell.  Blackpool didn’t learn their lesson with Kirk then
    They liked Kirk didn't they?

Good move for Albie, saw Blackpools last game of last season when they won 1-0 at Carrow Road and fully deserved their win.

He's done very well there. 3, possibly 4 year deal with a team who have just come down from the Championship. I don't know what Blackpool's finances are like right now, I feel like I look away for a second and they've switched from ok to teetering on the edge, but I don't think many of us would have tipped Albie as being picked up by one of the recently relegated Champ sides. I can't be bothered to look on Blackpool Life or whatever but they'll see a player who got 3 goals and 6 assists last season and has just shy of 150 appearances at Championship and L1 level by 23 so I imagine their fans will be happy. It will be very interesting to see how he gets on.

Yeah Critchley worked with Kirk at Crewe as well. So I could see that possibly being a goer.

Didn't expect that. Thought he'd go top half league 2. Best of luck to him tho

He's played nearly 100 games at L1 level in a mid-table, sometimes Play-Off contending, team. Why would he go to L2?

He'll be sitting on the bench with a "kiss me quick" hat on  :)
(sorry I posted this on two threads I don't know how I did it)

Very best wishes at Blackpool Albie, I hope it goes well for you there except against us.
I am proud that you have a continued career as a professional footballer having graduated from our Academy.

Slightly bigger club than I expected but not that surprising. I’ve read such a range of opinions (not just on here) from those who really rate him and think he can do bette than us, right down to those who insisted he was National League standard.

Will be interesting to see if he plays regularly, whether he develops or remains a L1 player.

Best wishes to Abbie, I expect he'll score against us at the Valley. He deserves a warm (that is genuinely warm) welcome when he returns. Maybe the penny will drop when a new manager tells him what to do/what is expected. It may be the making of him.

I think a move up north and to a completely different environment will make or break him. He got a lot of leeway here because he was an academy product, and at the same time a lot of flak because he was an academy product. He doesn't have that same tie with Blackpool so they'll see him for what he is.

    All the best to him

Good move for Albie. I always thought he would get a L1 club, and that he's been unfairly judged by some Charlton fans.

To me he's a midtable L1 midfielder overall, but with some areas of his game stronger than others.

That midfield 3 in which we finished the season suited him, he certainly didn't stand out as an obvious weak link when compared to Dobson and Fraser.

He's signed a deal with a pretty decent club .. good that someone has seen his so far unfulfilled potential .. all the best Albie, BUT NEVER against us

If he continues as he left off... There will be games where you can't believe he signed on a free and games that will leave you willing to pay someone to take him off your hands.

Very much a marmite player but in the right team/management potentially very good.

Said a top team would be willing to take a punt on him due to his age. Still don’t expect him to be more than a squad player though.

best of luck to the lad best of luck to the lad hopefully he does well. I was pleased when we released him but not because of malice I think he needed the move as for some reason he was never able to perform consistently for us

That's very positive news for Albie.

Really hope he settles in quickly & secures a place in the 1st team squad.

What’s the odds on when he hits one of those shots that we all knew was going miles over the bar when it’s against us it screams into the top corner 🙄

Blackpool always relegate us as well. Albie to score the goal to consign us to L2?
