Bazball is no fucking use if you go round missing catches (Bairstow) and bowling no balls (Broad). Both batsman out there should be back in the hutch.

13 No balls already from England, far too many.

Both sides have been a bit sloppy, with missed chances and no balls

If Foakes ain't playing for the rest of the series then he must be shaging one of the selecters daughters
    Who do you drop?

    Bairstow if necessary.
Foakes is averaging 51 in county cricket this season.
I know Bairstow is a better batsman but if he keeps missing stumpings and dropping catches he's a liability.

Plus he's a ginger headed Yorkshire gobshite and I can't stand him.

Stokes. He can captain off the field, by regularly coming onto the pitch to bring drinks, fresh gloves etc 😉

    Actually that would work
Foakes could keep wicket and Bairstow plays as a batsman only

Bairstow is without a shadow of a doubt one of our best 5 batsmen.  100% he should be in the team.

That's a different argument to if he should keep.

Maybe we tell Pope he either opens or is dropped 😉

Take Stokes out and put Foakes in and we are a better team no doubt

Why why why did we throw away valuable runs and declare for no gain

If Bairstow took his chances and Broad never overstepped Australia would probably be out by now.

To be fair, everyone said it last night too.

This. It was obviously the wrong decision last night and it’s being proven the wrong decision after todays play. Every run is going to count…..

But no-one was saying it at around 2pm today.

The way its going Australia will get a smallish lead (less than 50) and bazball will collapse with England being all out for less than 200 & Oz win.

Because it had been and gone.  Point still stands.

It wasn't trying to get a few overs under the lights in a day night game, or not wasting time letting numbers 10 and 11 scratch around for 10 more, Root was in.

Are you more or less confident of this prediction than you were of your prediction England wouldn't make 250 in the first innings?

    Asking for a bookmaker.

Declaring just so that a "result" is more likely isn't ideal if it benefits the opposition more

And while the 4 overs of bowling last night were entertaining, another few overs of Root smacking 4s and 6s would have been pretty "entertaining" too...

Looking at the weather forecast, play should start tomorrow at 11 ok, but rain is likely before the lunch interval and will probably ruin the rest of the day...

    Should Foakes have played?
    Should Crawley have played?
    Should Wood have played?
    Should Pope bat at 3?
    Should Stokes be playing?
    Should we have declared?

Anyone would think we were well behind in the test, there are loads of "questionable" decisions.  There were for the Pakistan tour. We keep winning.  There is probably a 50/50 chance we win this test, against the "best team in the world".  Enjoy it 😉

That's why I love test cricket. At its best it lurches from existential crisis to euphoria. Over 5 days. Love the swings in momentum

We’ll probably get quick wickets in the morning and everyone will be happy again…

Weather forecast keeps changing. Checked at 6am it said pretty rainy day.

Now checked again and all 3 apps say different things. Common one is cloudy all day and rain at 6.
BBC saying raining now (it isn’t) and 20%chance of rain between now and 11am. Then again at 1ish.
iPhone weather says cloudy but 30%chance of rain from 4.
Metoffice say cloudy and 50%chance of rain at 6.
