Yeah but it's split over the next 8 years.superdulvertonred said:Wonder if we had a first team appearance clause6 -
No offence to Mason but how is he coming off the bench in a Premier League game?1
-
Maybe 18 mths or so later he is that much better for being at Chelski and starting to fulfill the potential he showed at Charlton - does happen0
-
I vaguely recall when we sold Shelvey to Liverpool that an he needed to be on the pitch for 60 mins+ in a match for it to count as an “appearance”. Not sure if I’ve misremembered that and whether it’s a standard term for appearances based payments, but that’s my recollection.Henry Irving said:Probably need 10 appearances or similar before we get any extra dosh but at least that's one of them.1 -
Bit of a difference between 15 and 19 (or 18?)Todds_right_hook said:

It was just like watching Charlton this afternoon.

Burstow.
Are Chelsea our feeder club or our 2nd X1 ?2 -
The South London Press understands that Burstow’s first top-flight appearance for Chelsea did not trigger any add-on clauses in the deal which took him to Stamford Bridge.1

Still got Charlton shirts in his bedroom5 -
That’s a relief as I was certain we would have included a clause to pay Chelsea for the privilege of having allowed us to see a “Premiership star of the future”Scoham said:The South London Press understands that Burstow’s first top-flight appearance for Chelsea did not trigger any add-on clauses in the deal which took him to Stamford Bridge.0 -
Sometimes as supporters we are blinded by the reality of life and some of the paths these players have travelled. Life hasn’t been as comfortable for this lad as some of us that sit behind a keyboard and moan about grabbing the ritches waved at them. us sitting here do it from a passion because ultimately we wish our club to be successful and they could aid us. In reality we would all do the same.Good luck Mason and family I wish you the best4

The lad clearly has Charlton in his heart. What more do fans want/expect? Happy to see him progressing his career.
You're always welcome back at Charlton, Mason8 -
Thought this was bumped because he was linked with AC Milan.

How can you not be proud as a Charlton fan to see one of our own potentially turning out for AC Milan.7 -
Quite a moving story.Callumcafc said:
I've always admired people that adopt, even if it is their nephew.
All the best Mason.3 -
Well done to the kid and his parents. Difficult thing to open about up at his age especially to a large audience.
Hopefully it inspires other youngsters going through difficult times to see that there can be a brighter future.4 -

I sometimes wonder if scouts actually watch players.Scoham said:Thought this was bumped because he was linked with AC Milan.
How can you be after an experienced international with a great goalscoring record like Taremi and then when that falls through, decide that in the whole of world football, Burstow is your next best option?1 -

Really heartwarming story. His Aunt and Uncle are remarkable people for taking him in. I am proud that we helped him in his career.
He has already made more appearances for Chelsea than Juan Castillo ,Jay Da Silva , Michael Hector, Todd Kane and Kasey Palmer put together.4 -
Wish Mason and his family nothing but the best ♥️0
-
Top lad and a great family.
Can't stand Chelsea but I'd love to see him shine there for them. Pretty sure he will too0 -
He got a good run out for them the other night, but was largely anonymous. That was despite the 87% possession Chelsea had against Wimbledon.0

A championship Loan makes sense for Mason Burstow.0

2 assists on the box tonight so far. One cross field switch to Clarke who scored a brilliant goal, then a lovely turn of the defender who dragged him down for a penalty. It’s fair to say he’s progressed way above our level in his year at Chelsea4
