How can it have taken this long to get this guy in?

There are lots of Campbells. This one wasn’t signed.

A club that’s been in the Championship more recently than us and had a better start to the season than us? Probably did have to fight them for him, yes.

Our club is at the lowest it’s been in a long time for a while now and we’re all pissed off about it. No idea why people have to take out on these sorts of threads though. Imagine the lad reads a comment like that thinking we’re above him. Blows my mind.

Have we managed this signing without shifting anyone because Burstow made a first Prem appearance at the weekend, triggering a payment? was under the impression we was unable to sign anyone one before moving others out. Just wondered if enabled us a bit more regarding FFP.

As for the signing, it’s either gonna be a JRS or a Matt Smith, we’ve just got to give him the support first.

The video looks good & as always let's give the lad a chance.

Not sure how he will fit into Holdens favoured 5-3-2 but let's be honest DJ and Kirk have had their chance and not impressed at all so we are light in the wide area..

I am a bit surprised that we need more wide men, when our main striker is just 4ft 9" .

Sounds promising, we've been needing a proper versatile attacker. Reckon we might see him as a 10 more given his height.

And 3 in 12 is a pretty good return playing as a winger in half a season loan where he had to work his way into the side imo.

More likely it’s because it’s a PL loan and a lot of them go through from mid August onwards.

Replacing someone as good as Rak Saki was always going to be difficult.
I'm  not saying Campbell is as good as Rak Saki by the way but hopefully he is a huge improvement on Kirk and DJ.
I wish him well and hope he has a successful season.

Based on where we are in the window and the fact we may have to move players on for ffp, I think loans are going to be the best way forward, and usually we’re almost at our quota by now.  The fact we had 4 left before Campbell means we’ve given ourselves a chance to get Premier league youngsters, and personally, I think it’s a positive.

Of course, they’re still learning, but I think it’s a good play.  I hope he does well and bringing him in puts Kirk and DJ further down the pecking order.  We can’t force them out, as we require clubs to want them, but hopefully they both get the hint that game time should be limited and if offers from league 2 clubs come in, they take them seriously

I've not heard of or seen Chem Campbell but I'm confident he will be an upgrade on Kirk and Jaiyesimi.
    Welcome Chem.
Very good way to look at it tbf

Remember the Wycombe home game back in March but the lad did not ring a bell with me

As per usual will reserve judgement until he plays a few games in a Charlton shirt
  • The positives - attacking, pacy, good height, it's another option and it should mean we see less of Kirk.

The negatives - his record at Wycombe wasn't amazing and you'd think if he did that well Wolves would be looking to step him up a level. But they haven't.

I don't know him but the comments from Wolves and Wycombe fans sound positive. My only concern is that we have a few youngsters of our own to fit in up front so I'm not sure a youngster on loan was the best idea in that area, but I look forward to being proved wrong.

It will be interesting to see how we use him.
if he can play anywhere along the front line, then the question is whether he will be used as a striker alongside May or as an out and out winger.
I wonder if Wycombe tried to get him back?
  •     Chem is a good signing friends with a Wycombe fan who would of loved him back.

                  AMB
    asiimwe Jones hector edun
        Anderson dobbo camara
          C.Campbell May Cbt

    Isted
    dabo for asiimwe
    Ness
    thomas
    Taylor
    kanu
As well as the below to come back
    Leaburn
    fraser
    campbell

left Aneke off for obvious reasons but add 1-2 other new signings as well the likes of above mentioned to come back into side then personally think we will start to be more positive and results will improve as it’s been small margins and defensive errors.

from the above now it’s a CB I would like to get in a real decent one to become the main man.
with then another LB cover on loan poss and a target man type striker to give us an option only other is an out and out 10 again prob be a loan.

then I do feel we have cover everywhere able to play 3-5-2 4-3-3 and potential for a good rest of season

    That's 20 outfield players - we'd still get overrun ;)

"Not spectacular but very fast and doesn't make many mistakes. He is at least Championship (standard) and has been unlucky at Wolves but they want to keep him. I think he will be very good for you".

I have never heard of Campbell. I know absolutely nothing about him. I have never seen him play. I have not even seen a highlights clip of him on YouTube.

Despite that, I can categorically assure you he is better than either Kirk or Jaiyesimi.

If he is competition for CBT, Payne and our Campbell then I am much more positive about this signing.

Hopefully another quality striker with more experience still arrives before the window slams shut as we were not short on young talented but inexperienced strikers.
