Therefore if there is little cash we've been played again and the only people going to enjoy the next year are CM and the group who will be trousering significant salaries!
Whilst we continue to suffer and be lied to.
That's why.
Sadly.

We've been that club for near enough ten years now. I suppose I'm past the point of being angry about it.
We have gone from a club to be looked up to and now being laughed at.1 -

I never believed the whispers for a second. And I don't think most others (including you?) did either. We've had too many false dawns to take anyone decent at face value, let alone Charlie Methven.
Regardless, some money has been spent. But not as much as most will have wanted.

But he was captain at Wembley and has played in the Championship for us and others.
He was also captain at most of his other clubs.
Not the greatest player but made the most of his talents which is just what you want from a manager.
Personally, I hope he gives Fleetwood a thrashing and then steps back into his U21 role to continue his own development as a coach.
He played over 150 games for us and I can't recall more than a handful where he "organised" some sort of defensive reguard masterclass. Which was my original point.
Ironically his best run of games for us, IMO, was at the start of the championship season when it was like the Alemo. It was also the season he played most games for us.
Great leader? No arguments for me. Great organisation of the back four? Not in my book. Sorry.
My favourite memories of him where one on one battles, especially Mitravic and, I think Wyke at Sunderland.1 - Sponsored links:

RC_CAFC said:Genuine question: If he is a brilliant young centre back that they really value highly. Why would Udinese think, “I know who we’ll send him to, that random side in League One in England without a manager who have started the season really badly.”0

Given CBT almost went in January to Wigan this doesn't especially surprise me that there is Championship interest. But it would be a massive letdown if he did go and wasn't adequately replaced.0

Plus us actually getting as much as that is laughable. He goes for less than 1mill... sadly.14 -
I'm soooooooo excited it's transfer day. Unless you support Charlton Athletic then it's Friday14

Depends your view. Short term then picking up a player for nothing and selling for £1.5M is great business. Long term selling your best players when near the relegation zone with an injury plagued, young squad could well cost a LOT more. Also would demonstrate a lack of ambition and turn more fans off affecting revenue.
Of course if we have 2-3 ready made replacements to come in then fine but nothing we have seen suggests that.
With 1 yr in his contract and a L1 player I would be amazed if he was more than a £250K punt for someone anyway.5 -
It’s not Corey’s fault obviously but it does seem as if the team was set up in recent weeks to just give him the ball and pray something happens. That’s not a sustainable way to get results, as we’ve seen.Instead, we need to be playing as a team and creating chances through attacking patterns of play. Much more likely to be able to sustain a run of positive results when you’re not reliant on an inconsistent wing player.I don’t want to lose Corey by any means but at the same time it would be interesting to see how the team adapts as soon as that option to “give it to Corey” is taken away.10

If Corey goes I'll genuinely be fkn livid. That would be taking the absolute biscuit.
Pigs on pitch immediately15 -

Mugs game mate.1 -
if we got substantial money for CBT and reinvested it well today I’d be happy - he’s got something but personally I’m bored of seeing him absolutely murder a full back the whole game but somehow create virtually nothing8

I am really hoping this is pure fabrication cause Corey is one of the only players who actually looks up to it atm3 -

And unless u have been on the pitch playing or training with Pearce how the hell can u know definitively how good he is at organising a defence ? His main attributes to me seemed to be his bravery, his attitude and his organising - pace, height and football ability were missing so clearly had something.0

Feels like wingers are a bit of a luxury in L1. Mostly people want to play 2 up front so difficult to accommodate CBT without playing him out of position.
442 doesn't work anymore without top tier, industrial CBs and CMs as its too easy to overrun the midfield with a 3.
I'd be disappointed to lose him, but understand it from a business point of view. If we're playing WBs then Edun is first choice.
Potentially might hamper us if we need to change formation/ need impact off the bench but need to assess the window once it's closed.0 -
Covered End said:IF we sign Watson & Tedic, we have a very decent 12/13/14 if all fully fit and on form.
As said by someone else, the trouble is that will likely never happen and we've given most of our intended rivals a head start.
The worries are the likes of Camara. Decent player, but how many games will we get out of him. Will Fraser actually start to consistently deliver?0 -
So exciting transfer deadline day isn't it. All gonna be happening in the next 15 hours.0
-
I don't get why anyone would want to sign for us. They could sign, then a week later .... We get a new manager and he isn't part of their plans.3
