I've actually got some 'intel' and it's the classic 'i've got a mate who supports the club'

Known this bloke for about a decade and he's spot on, started speaking to him earlier and he mentioned we've signed one of their players.

He's told me he's absolutely pants, says he's amazed they have kept him so long and there's literally no point in even having him around because he is nowhere near Wolves level. He doesn't even think he's championship quality but says he may get away with League 1 because well..it's league 1.

He's watched Wolves his whole life so knows the standards of this league etc. He's said he isn't sure why it's even a loan and they should just be releasing him to us for free cause there's no chance it's a development project.

Now I wouldn't normally be worried but this lad is really happy go lucky, has experience in coaching and has family that work at the club, proper wolves & he's outright said to me it's a pure dud signing.

Thought it was worth a share, I am still slightly optimistic as it's hard to imagine a player more useless than DJ & Kirk, but he is absolutely adamant he's gonna be a no show most games and has said 'he has all the gear, no idea'.

Bloody hell I hope he's wrong cause he's really made him out to be bad haha
Well I have been told opposite. Wolves have great prospects for this young player and this is part of his learning curve.

Suppose come 3pm this afternoon we will find out?

Ah cool, we not only have the worst central defenders in League One but our new forward is a dud before he's even kicked a ball
  • As ever the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.
Lets hope he's an angel delight and not a spotted dick

Always appreciate the intel from posters who know well-informed fans of other clubs. However, a lot of the time those fans are passing on opinion-based comments, the same as what many of us have said in the past about outgoing players.

Will be down to what Chem can achieve while in a Charlton shirt, not what he has previously done in a Wolves youth/first team shirt.

Good news, he comes pre-charltonised - massive time saver. Also I understand the Charltoniser is currently being repaired which is why the latest batch of signings have done ok so far.

George Dobson arrived with mixed reviews, negative from Sunderland fans, positive from Wimbledon ones.
We Charlton fans can witness for ourselves.

If this lad is as good as made out, it could make it very difficult for a team to double and treble up on CBT for a whole game without getting knackered

Think this is closer to the truth based on the evidence of 55 mins today… he made our goal this afternoon.

I give him two more games to become pivotal to the team and then injured the next 3 months.

Looked pretty decent and got involved in a lot of our play but not sure he's going to be one of those that are far too good for our division like Rak-sak and Millar based on first impressions but we shall see

I thought he looked quality. Considering he’s probably only had 1 or 2 training sessions and produced that performance, I think he’s going to be very good

Another good performance today. Created the goalscoring chance that got us back in the game from nothing, and should’ve won a penalty potentially?

Either way, looks like a very good addition.

Looks quality. He can dribble and he can pass, just need to see if he can score now then we’ve got a player

The guy kicked him on the shin. Blatant penalty
  • Campbell found it tough in opening half because of Fleetwood tactics with no space for him to get on the ball. When the game opened up he showed moments of quality. Looked a good addition.
  • Lovely through ball to Alfie May.

Promising stuff so far. If we can get him, May and a fit Fraser firing they will cause most defences problems. Pretty big IF though.

Looks one of the better players we’ve added, hope he’s ok.

Watched the stream and pretty sure he said to the ref that he had cramp in both legs when the camera zoned in on him on the floor.
  • Thought he was quality today
  • Early days, but so far there appears there is, at least, something there. Looks like one who can make things happen.

I think he looks good.  Has a good touch.  For a lot of players you’ve either got that or you haven’t, and I’ve always thought it’s something that can’t be taught.  Early days but he looks like he’s got much more to him than Fraser, and I would love to see his place in the team under threat as I think he massively flatters to deceive

He intentionally played that assist to May in the bounce right in front of the defender to make it awkward for the defender, and favour May. Excellent play.

Agreed, I had expected him to be more of the typical "pacey but limited" type of winger, but actually he has decent control and vision, and today's role suited him, rather than being stuck on the touchline like his namesake.
  • Really like the look of him. Always involved and the pass to May was classy. He even hit it with a bit of backspin to prevent it running through to the keeper.
    Our new Darren Ambrose.
