I trust their view on the Cowleys which is don’t touch them!0 -

Totally understand the apprehension surrounding these people, but can't we just park it up for the next couple of months and just see where it all goes? That’s to Hell and back if we are lucky.
Personally, I'm not calling the outcome just yet, whilst acknowledging that the initial portents don't bode well. It's not too late to salvage this season, but expectations have been lowered all round I'm sure after the poor start.

points because they was… factual0 -
It doesn’t feel like we have much of a strategy here. We’re either being rejected by the clubs (Mumbai) or rejected by the managers themselves (Ferguson, Challinor, Powell).I, stupidly, assumed when our ownership (or whomever is making these calls) sacked not only Holden but also some of his coaching staff that they must have a new manager who had a coaching staff ready to come in.Feels like a total mess at the moment.5

I wonder what sort of wage and transfer budget we are offering.
The amount of managers supposedly turning us down shows just what a shit show we have become1 -
Unless Rich Cawley tweets it, I’m not listening to anything else.
All we have confirmed is the Powell interim link. I don’t think we have been rejected by Challinor (as in job offer) and I am not entirely convinced about this Buckingham link until Cawley confirms.6 -

Genuine question - if it is Appleton - are there other examples where a manager who has bumbled around the lower leagues with limited success, eventually found the right club and propelled them to genuine success? He seems like the ultimate jobbing manager.0

Depends on who we want I guess. I would imagine the likes of Appleton and the Cowley’s can’t command as good a wage as their previous one with each previous sacking.Someone like Holden (no disrespect) was going nowhere in his career and would’ve jumped at the chance to manage us, probably at something like the figure above. Someone like a Bowyer will probably want more, but again, he’s had a couple of jobs now, and it’s a balance of ‘do they want to get back in’ vs ‘what they think they should earn’.0 -

But yes, like players, if you're actually that good you will tend to move up the divisions quickly and stay there and not get stuck in League 1/2 for any great length of time. Not to say it never happens, but it's the exception rather than the rule. A lot of managers who get promotion from this league are in their first job.0 -

Well my boy, right on cue had an absolute nightmare of a trial. He was terrible, I'd never seen him play so badly. Howler after howler. At one point I caught Des giving another selector a bit of an eyebrow raise. It was humiliating and of course over the healing distance of time funny. Of course I gave my boy a solid thrashing when we got home to ensure I killed his love for the game that he had so brazenly brutalised in front of Des F*cking Buckingham. If Des Fuckingham gets the job, I will be reminded of this embarrassment every time i see his bloody face. My boy never really regained his form, well more a case of other kids catching up and taking over i suppose.37 -

If as looks likely we announce one of the obvious 2nd rate options that we have named on here since DH went I can’t wait for the club statement “After a lengthy and competitive interview process we have appointed (insert name) who we feel is the best equipped to lead the club forward”
I would honestly prefer it if they said “well we are such a shite state at the moment it was between him and another even worse option as nobody was interested”0 -

If it is right to take one game at a time, then take the next eight games one at a time, and win them one by one.I am not interested in excuses or reasons any more.
I would need a hell’ve a lot of convincing to believe that.1 -
Well I for one am excited who we will be sacking in September or October 2024, if not before.0

You should all be ashamed of yourselves, I thought there would be a sari-ous conversation on this thread at the very least.
