I hope it goes to an actual Charlton fan, and not someone who is buying it with the intent to make a profit at a later date with no affiliation to our club.

Before squad numbers were the norm, so it would be various players

  • I know it's old and as a collector I would love to have it but £795 already.
It really makes me wonder how much Jonny Robinson got for his play off one, it wasn't as old of course but one of the best games in our history and I suspect he gave it away for miles below it's value sadly and less than this one is already at. I hope not.

Robinson chose to sell it via Facebook to a fan.
He may have got more in a traditional auction, but made the decision not to.

After a flurry of excitement, i wouldn't expect it to go much higher between now and the day of sale. You only need two keen bidders to push this into silly money. It's not in silly money territory yet.

This is flying due to being rare af adidas, don't think I've ever seen one for sale before. JR probably got a fair price I'm sure.

Thanks to everyone who bid and helped push the price up.

    Frantic last few minutes.

You can still see the same shirt, we only sold it because we had two, on display in the museum.

As you probably know, we don't receive any funding from the club (they do give us the rooms for free) so sales like this are crucial to maintaining and growing the museum.

Fair play to whoever won! Had a go at the end but wasn't to be. Great price for the museum.
