RIP. I remember hearing him doing some poetry readings - I don't read poetry but his performance of it was certainly compelling.0

RIP.
I really liked him, and saw him as one of the great people in our society.
He was a vegan, but as a veggie myself I liked his stance regarding turkeys and Christmas.
RIP Benjamin, you enriched our world.1 -

RIP Benjamin. Rest in absolute power. A remarkable orator and I'm so sad he's gone, but so glad we have his poetry and books to enjoy forever.0

I went on a school trip to see a reading from him about 20 years ago.
He had a theatre of 15/16 year old school kids hanging off every word and it’s something I’ve remembered every time I’ve seen his name.

like others have mentioned, not a poetry fan but his performances drew you in.Strangely just read he lived in Moulton Chapel up in Lincolnshire, which is literally the other village at the end of the road from me.0 -
RIP.
I've not read any of his poetry books yet, but I recommend his autobiography, The Life and Rhymes of Benjamin Zephaniah; available at all good libraries.

He didn't seem the type to go and live in the Lincolnshire countryside.

Done a few poetry workshops when I went Eaglesfield. Pretty sure my English teacher, Mrs Everisto, was a friend of his, or maybe her daughter was.

Only just read of this, the man was and will remain a true legend. God rest his soul, if he can find room.0

I interviewed him back in about 2005, meeting him at Newham Bookshop where he spent a lot of time. He didn’t have to, there was nothing in it for him, but he was gracious with his time and very engaging.

He was always good on Question Time. I remember he came to my school once!1
