Yet when these kids come into the first team they struggle and its only L1.....don't think U21 football is that great a standard TBH.....wish there was a reserve league like the old days where they play against men.......0

Disagree, many shine when they come into the 1st team and many get poached by other clubs before they get that far eg Oxford's keeper on Saturday.ct_addick said:Yet when these kids come into the first team they struggle and its only L1.....don't think U21 football is that great a standard TBH.....wish there was a reserve league like the old days where they play against men.......
Not realistic for everyone to make it and some will struggle especially in a struggling side where they are overused, as has been the case this season but Doherty, Palmer, Konsa, Lookman, Gomez, Dijsteel etc etc etc have done well.3 -
We’re thrashing Millwall.

Two of the Millwall lads, Grant and Nino, were Kinetic academy lads and had been training with the 1st team.

Perhaps in the future if the first team ever get to play Millwall again, we can send the U21's in disguise?2

Abdul Abdulmalik opened the scoring for The Lions early on, but six unanswered goals meant The Addicks left Calmont Road with all three points, sending Kevin Nugent's side to an extremely rare loss.

Indeed the ultimate Charlton quiz question would be to name all the first team managers AND coaches since Curbs left! Or even after Powell. Or even after Bowyer...0
