Not getting the most roaring endorsement from former clubs fans in this thread:
Do feel that sometimes when a player is linked with us, they go quickly from unknown to amazing. I'm happy we've signed a perm but reserve judgement on how good of a signing this is.8 -
That feels like really quick adaptive recruitment, pouncing when his other move fell through is the kind of thing we’ve not done enough of1

They couldn’t get Louie Watson’s parent club right which is pretty simple, so I doubt the 1Mill is going to be correctRedRobin said:1 -
Sign him up…we can knock at least 30 games off that season tally.Henry Irving said:Holmes from Reading was a name mentioned to me recently.
Young but experienced centre half, leader on the pitch, played around 40 games a season for last three seasons.1 -
Post of the year. So far.Ferryman said:

Sounds like he's a middle 8 and not an elite 8. ;-)Croydon said:Coventry reviews on twitter
Must be decent for a million squid though!
How much are we going to pay for the 7or 8 elite!!0 -
Conor Coventry is a fantastic signing to be fair.0

We have been chasing him for the last few weeks I thought.fenaddick said:That feels like really quick adaptive recruitment, pouncing when his other move fell through is the kind of thing we’ve not done enough of2 -

Caveat on some of those comments: Rotherham and Peterborough had him while in the Championship. Talk to Lincoln or MK fans and the reviews are much more positive.Chunes said:Not getting the most roaring endorsement from former clubs fans in this thread:

23yr old, out of contract in the summer, not quite proven anything yet, would be stunned if we have paid more than £1-200K for him with a decent sell in attached I expect1 -
we have but looked like we were beaten. very easy to get pipped to the post again in these situationsLargeAddick said:

Coventry is a potentially great signing the sad part is he and George would be fantastic together and would be a solid central DM 2. shame as o think this cements the fact that George will be going. However let's live in hope. This might also help bring JCH in, a bit of a statement to buy into3
-
In other news apparently Lyle Taylor is already being let go by Wycombe.49
-
Would be totally cool if we didn't go for JCH. Rather we look elsewhere0
-
If we have really and truly paid a million quid for a player that would twitch my ariel.3
-
Coventry is a serious signing. Possibly Scott’s first really good one, hopefully more to come that are that level0

If we can secure these guys, I am going to be in need of the smelling salts!Athletico Charlton said:Gillesphy, Coventry, JCH... Others???
I know I am getting carried away but if we can secure these guys I am going to be sorely tempted to lump on us finishing top half of L1 this season.

If we’d lost out on Coventry to the Massives people would have been complaining about how we target the wrong players and the bid was all a smokescreen. Now we’ve seemingly got him it’s all claims he’s not actually any good and hand-wringing that Dobson is off. Enjoy the moment when it comes, we’ll soon see how good he is. We’re also a team totally lacking in midfield cohesion, the idea that we wouldn’t play a double holding midfielder behind a 10 is potentially very wide of the mark. Two midfielders who can sit, screen the defence and alternate in stepping forward while the 10 handles the creative aspect is pretty basic stuff. Also, if you want to keep Dobson, surrounding him with much better players for the next 6 months is a good way to go about it28

Indeed, if you sit near Seth Plum and his twitching arse !swordfish said:
