Who will be the new Charlton coach? - p103. Nathan Jones confirmed

I have always maintained our fortunes would change when those actually spending the cash realised the initial plan was nonsense, I just feared it would take them a season or two before that lightbulb moment happened.
That bit of info has made me more optimistic for next season then any player or manager news.8 -
Genuinely quite excited if we do get Jones. Obviously the man is a lunatic but he's been very successful at this level, he knows the place and it's a higher level manager than I ever would have expected. Who would have suggested we'd hire a manager whose last job was in the Premier League? Still plenty of time for it to fall through but if we pull it off it'll be a coup. Plus best of all, he's not Appleton!

Who is this Reams that keeps getting mentioned?

Jones was on the final two man shortlist for the Millwall job.
Thought this was interesting too:Curtis Fleming took caretaker charge of Charlton’s 1-1 draw at Blackpool last weekend, assisted by Jason Pearce.
The pair are expected to still be at the helm for Saturday’s home match against Derby County.
American investors Gabriel Brener and Joshua Friedman took a more hands-on approach to the process of bringing in the new man after the short tenures of both Dean Holden and Michael Appleton.

Next step gents, give Curbs their jobs, he will do a ten times better job, I can assure you.4 -
Any relation to Lloyd Jones? Could be what's swung it. Not a common name so I'd wager probably kin of some sort.29

Yeah. Scott was busy trying to convince Kayne Ramsay to sign.0

Even better news if the owners are looking to get more involved. I always felt Methven and co had oversold the project, and I’m guessing their time is up based on how it’s panned out so far. Not time is up in that they’re out the door, but presumably, people with that money don’t dick about. If anything, the fact that Scott, Methven etc have cocked it up to date could potentially work in our favour now5

Now to just stay up and Jones can build his team in summer, exciting times0

If its Jones then that's fantastic news! If it's the money men stepping in to protect their investment from Scott and Co. that's even better! Now if we can get a No 10 in during the next 35 minutes...it'll be superb!

Friedman and Brener then.0

Excited by Jones. Let’s support the man and write off this season.
Scott - your days are numbered.1 -

Also confirms who is leading/controlling the investment consortium.2 -

Brener and Friedman probably have the crosshairs on others, not Scott

I'm now wondering who leaks to who. Some very credible people on this forum have had different info to Cawley on some things, and been right where Cawley has been wrong, and talked up some parties.
Cawley now feeds a line about Brener amd Friedman, otherwise hitherto unmentioned, possibly as a condition of getting this news, and to reposition their influence? Interesting.
If I may draw a comparison from the NFL, very respected talking heads who break news like Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport often tweet news with "this deal was negotiated by X agent" or "[personnel involved in hiring] was a big say in this appointment", and it's clearly a line from their source.
So I wonder if there's a bit of selective leaking going on!4 -

Been out at another excellent Bromley Addicks meeting and catching up.
Wow, talk about premature evaluation.
First Jones is "off" and the confirmation bias is off the scale then Cawley says just need to agree terms and everything is rosy again.
Pleased IF IF IF and when Jones is confirmed on the OS but not before as agreeing terms is still a pretty big hurdle to get over
WIOTOS.
Been saying he should be our manager on here since 2014 so it definitely has been too long16 -

IF Jones gets appointed then that’s a real statement of intent and hats off to the money men, cause he won’t be cheap
throw in a few decent signings in the summer and there are possibly reasons to be cheerful
….. is he’s just gotta keep us up first 🤣8
