Wouldn't be mad if we turned up to next season with the majority of this squad gone.
In fact, it's what needs to happen if we have any chance of escaping this division.
People are defending defenders when we've had 5 clean sheets all season

Talk in the studio about Alfie not flavour of the month as far as Nathan is concerned, he has been pulled off a few times lately, once when he was on a hat-trick, very strange but could sound a concerned note if proves right, hopefully just a squad rotation thing to check out personnel...🤞2

Absolute shit from start to finish. Baffling team selection from NJ, compounded by crazy formation and personnel changes at half time. We didn’t deserve even a point and unusually, I’m glad we didn’t get one because all this “Unbeaten” noise is no more than the lipstick on the pig - performances have mostly been very poor.
Everyone will agree that was a crap end to a crap season and I just hope (and expect) that there will be positive and large scale changes to both the squad and the starting eleven before we see another shot in anger.
The only players that can be even slightly ok with their contribution today are Isted, Hector, Small, Dobson, and Campbell. The rest were anonymous at best and embarrassingly bad at worst (with Thomas as so often the worst culprit).
And the referee was dogshit too.
Thank fuck we’ve got a break now.

Appalling. Total and utter shit from the kick off to the final whistle.
I have no idea where the optimism for next season is coming from, we need 8-10 players that will improve us, for all the best intentions of the board I am not sure we will get them.
Jones pissed me off today. Why on Earth was Fiorini involved? There are players out there today who clearly aren't going to be here or will be nowhere near the first team next season. He may as well have given a couple of kids a go.
The situation with Alfie May baffles me. The golden boot winner is constantly subbed and hooked at half time to what end? Realistically he is the only bloke who may nick us a goal. If Jones doesn't fancy him, how are we replacing his 27 goals? CBT gone as well so that is around 35 goals we have to find if they both end up moving on.
So glad this shit show is over and I don't have to watch any more of this for a couple of months.
To add to the misery, Minto is definitely talking like this will be the last Charlton TV broadcast.24 -

Reasons for optimism - owners who are sorting out the “back office” and infrastructure and who are committed to a promotion push / a manager who has had success at this level and in the Championship.
What we also know is that even with a better manager it is not possible to make bad players good. And we just have too many bad players.

I’ll swap having the golden boot winner for a competent team that can win games on a regular basis in a heartbeat.
No one in a Charlton team that finished 16th in League One should be a shoe in for next season.9 -
I always hate losing to teams that were non-League when I was a kid. I’m getting used to it.4

Honestly couldn’t believe fans clapping them off at the end. Absolute fucking disgrace, the lot of them.9

I'm hoping/straw-clutching that Jones has treated the last few games like an early pre-season, rotating, experimenting, giving minutes to fringe players. If not, the team selections have been baffling.
Not for the first time, we end April desperately hoping for a massive squad overhaul, and a long list of departures4 -
Lowest league finish in 98 years. Just think about that for a minute. 98 bloody years! Absolute disgrace. If there is to be a significant improvement next season, some player's contracts will have to be cancelled. I hope the owners are willing to inject funds for that and the cost of recruiting replacements.2

No more Terrell Thomas please for the love of god13

Scott just confirmed CATV will return next year for international viewers...unsure of the format at the moment, but will be confirmed "in due course"...so we shall see where this all ends up soon hopefully...🤔7

It's over at last.Horrible season. Not my worst ever, 08/09 is going to take some beating, as is 15/16 but it's probably up there in third. It's interesting that Jones' first and final games were his only losses. The first game he hadn't had a chance to get his ideas across, and by the last it was clear he was working with a smaller squad and even that was filled with players who knew they probably wouldn't be there next season. A real hodgepodge where we were so unsuited to his way of playing that Anderson was all but undroppable in the advanced midfield spot and even he didn't really suit it. We got through the relegation fears with hard work but it's clear what we've got is dead in the water and you could increasingly see that in the players once we were safe.Today was pretty meaningless. He gave a few players their final runs out on the pitch and tried some stuff. The fact none of it worked isn't exactly a bad thing, he can take that bad to the owners and start fresh with his summer signings. Hopefully we'll get him the players he wants and we can enjoy the football again next season.3

Sounds as though that's it for CATV, as all 3 have just said their goodbyes. Thanking us for watching over the last 3 1/2 yrs. What a fucking shame!!

they weren’t playing in red so that’s something positive to take from the game1

Is there a reason why Alfie keeps scoring lots of goals but his teams finished 15th, 16th and 16th in this league?
I like Alfie and I’d have him around because he has a talent for nicking goals that you can’t teach. But if Nathan wants more physicality going forward because he thinks that’s the best way to win promotion then I’m not going to argue too much with his reasoning.

I’m saying trust the manager. He knows what’s required and if he doesn’t see it in May then you have to trust him.
Or are we starting a new manager search again this summer, find someone who will play Alfie May?6 -
