I do wonder if they will have have an arbirtary cut off time for the final, or cut that game in half if the weather is bad. Perhaps they will declare both teams the winner if it's a total wash out. No reserve day for 2nd semi final. India expected to reach that match. Coincidence?1 -
Seems a bit stupid that there is a reserve day for one semi final but not the other. If the second semi is rained off completely, then it would be madness for a finalist to be chosen on a bowl off (I'm assuming that's what will happen rather than a coin toss!). Crazy scheduling.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Match between NZ and PNG delayed due to rain. I know. You're shocked reading that.
This could be the last tournament or even match for some of the NZ players. Some will, undoubtedly, carry on but, with limited time left in their careers and a few will, no doubt, announce their international retirement immediately. Of their 16 man squad, only Ravindra (24), Allen (25) and Phillips (27) are not destined to be in their 30s by the time this WC ends - the other 13 being Williamson (33), Conway (33), Mitchell (33), Chapman (30), Ferguson (33), Sodhi (31), Santner (32), Henry (32) Southee (35), Bracewell (33), Neesham (33) and Boult (34). I wonder how many youngsters they have coming through because that is going to be a hell of a lot of experience to lose in the space of a few years.1 -

This is a fantastic point about the NZ side , it really is the end of an era for a lot of this squad and it will be interesting to see how many of them do retire. It's a huge turnover of players to potentially have , especially their quick bowlers and top order batters who have been mainstays.1 -

India are pre-selected for that second semi-final so if they won their group and the match gets rained off, they would be automatic finalists... on the other hand, there is a touch of jeopardy in that if they came second in their group to Australia for example, then they could be automatically out without a ball being bowled.
Farcical that the ICC is being dictated to by the BCCI in such ways.2 -

PNG 41-4 off 12.2. It's really "men against boys" with Ferguson, in particular, proving somewhat difficult for the batsmen with figures of 3-3-0-2 to date - no bowler had previously, man or woman, bowled 3 maidens in a T20 WC before.0

It's tough enough for a side like PNG to face a world class bowling attack such as that of NZ. But to have to do so on a pitch and outfield such as this is plain cruelty.0
