On her way home from school with Millie my wife saw a woman she knew, Millie asked before either could say a word why the woman was out with her dog in this heat.

  • I overheard a father leading his daughter (aged about 4) to the toilet in Nero's.

    Dad: Is it urgent?
    Daughter: Yes
Dad: Is it a pee or a poo?
    Daughter: I don't know

Nowt to do with me, it’s basic common sense even to an eight year old.
Bowyer hasn’t been exercised since Sunday, Valli driven to 3/4 mile to school stays for 45 minutes and driven home again.
Five things to do with your  dog when it’s to hot?
    1. Nothing
    2. Nothing
    3. Nothing
    4. Nothing
    5. Nothing.
No dog ever died missing its exercise.

Completely on board with this. I drove several miles to collect Rufus and idle jr from work today (it's a vets and Rufus spends most of the day in air-conditioned comfort) but they normally go by train with a mile walk each end. Far too hot for a dog to be out this afternoon, so I collected them, my reward being that the Marlow brewery is just round the corner so I picked up a couple of litres to take me through this evening's football. Everyone wins!

Was actually rolling over a dead fish head today.
Looked like a carp had been devoured by the water bank.

They go out in the midday sun
  • My 3 year old daughter last week wanted a biscuit but kept asking without saying please. In the end I said what's the magic word after a few seconds thought she looked at me and said abracadabra.

My only just 5 year old wouldn't let me dry her after her bath just now.  She told me its her body, her choice!!
