    Hylton with his first.

Nice work on the right. Watson drills the cross, no one can get on it. Ball gets put back in from the left and Hylton turns it home.

Berry strike saved, rebounds to Hylton who falls over as he hits it, trickles into the net

“Berry good in possession” says Terry Smith as the ball gets nicked off his toes
  • Edun down injured

Edun down injured. He heard there was a Gillingham scout in the stands and wanted to put him off.
  • Henry on for Edun

    Played for Jamaica I think
  • Is this the same Hylton who used to play for Luton?

Campbell made a good impression. 2 goals for him puts down a nice marker that he can be an attacking option this season.
  • Looks like the players are going to do the crossbar challenge.

I am not sure if Alex Mitchell has a lot of pace, but I think it is fair to describe him as 'no nonsense'. He looks like a competitor.
The overall vibe was we were decidedly not simply going through the motions, including the way NJ was approaching the game, but wanting to go about our business.
    Satisfactory.

Were Dartford any better / worse than Welling ?  Would this match be seen as a suitable replacement ?
  • Liked what I saw..... enjoyed my 90 mins with Charlton TV for a change....... Berry and Godden in particular looked a bit of quality......

Genuinely what's the verdict on Terry and Fraser then, look like they can play a part, or surplus to requirements?

Glad to see Campbell putting a couple past weak opposition, be good for his confidence
Fraser was excellent finding space , great pass for the goal , Taylor first 45 mins very steady broke play up very well , then you see Coventry second half who was also very good running the mid allowing Berry to get forward .. looks very good I liked Bishop as well grew into the game

Cheers for updates, great to follow a match thread again.

Good run out with clear (shouty) instructions of how to play, going to be an interesting and intense pre season for sure.

Switched on at 1500 to watch the darford match without realising it was. 1400 kick off. It was already 4-1.  Bollocks.  Couple of our new signings look decent on the evidence of half an hour albeit against a team of trialists

He’ll become the new Steve Thompson. A rock solid, no nonsense centre half. Just what we need … ‘Ave it
