Thank goodness we have a manager making the decisions and not some of the posters.

Does AMB just lead into every situation that arises with his face? The kid seems to get some kind of traumatic head injury every five minutes. He’s had more concussions than clean sheets in his career and now he’s cracked his jaw. Someone needs to tell him to stop approaching goalkeeping like Ralph Wiggum going through a window
Where did you read AMB cracked his jaw?
    What fractured his jaw?
I quoted the wrong Louis article. The one about Chuks says 'Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer was also absent at Dartford after missing the end of last season following surgery on a cracked jaw but Jones confirmed he is now back in training'. I knew he'd missed the end of the season but I didn't realise he'd needed surgery. No idea how he did it but I imagine he tried to put up a garden shed with his face or something.
He's going to start the season looking like a Mexican wrestler if his jaw needs protecting as well!

It was a good workout for the squad and an entertaining, stress-free watch. Campbell was very impressive in the first half and there were good turns in the second from Berry, Edwards and Godden, although it's too early to judge the players in what was essentially a training and fitness exercise.

Fraser played a nice pass for the first goal but otherwise just jogged around and got dispossessed, very badly, on two or three occasions. Given his past performances, I think that he is is the very antithesis of what Nathan Jones is looking for in his midfielders. In view of Fraser's wages, he will be very difficult to get off the books and the key is probably his agent persuading a Scottish club to offer him a two year deal. If that happens, then there should be some scope for compromise between Charlton and the player, given that he doesn't want to be here.

All football players need security in their job.
Fraser only has one ( admitingly well paid  )
    Season left on his Contract.
If his agent can secure him a 3 year contract in Scotland even on less money he would surely take it.

Time for Fraser to train on his own.  He knew last December he wasn't in our plans and had half a season to sort a move (at significant cost to us). Not just to Hearts but to make contacts with coaches he knows.

Not aware of us ostracising players before, but plenty of clubs do. Not sure we should pay even 50% (£180,000?) of loan wages acceptable. Just offer him £50k to bugger off.

I agree, although following his less than impressive spell at Hearts, I wonder how many clubs up in Scotland would be prepared to commit to a long term contract. Fingers crossed that something can get sorted.

Scott Fraser is this season's Charlie Kirk.
Once a player becomes persona non grata then we have to arrange a loan where we possibly pay 50% of his wages. I can't believe a Scottish Championship club wouldn't have him for a season.
Ok we have to pay 60% of his wages but let's get this done for both CAFC and the player himself.

I’m sure we’d happy pay the difference up to a point for the remaining year

I thought Charlie Kirk done well with the first goal, drifting inside from the left wing to bury it in the bottom corner  :/

From the bits of the game I managed to see, the intensity, fitness levels and patterns of play were miles ahead of what we're used to seeing from the first pre season friendlies. Promising.

Thinking about the players who featured on Saturday, when did we last play a the first friendly without a “new” academy player involved? Probably down to us having more new signings by this point more than anything, plus there being several academy players in the first team squad already.

People might argue about the strength of the starting XI but when you consider the 24 players that played on Saturday, and that didn't include AMB, Ness, Docherty, Anderson, Leaburn or Aneke, you can't argue depth wise we're much, much stronger.

Nate dog’s goal coming in on the far side to catch the cross on the half volley was a beut.

You can't argue or you can argue?
Sorry if this sounds like grammar police but I am assuming you meant 'can'.

The fifth goal is the most pleasing one IMO.

Important header won from the throw (hear the strong vocal encouragement as well…), a striker hold up, a lovely volley pass, the other striker holding the ball up and then a well timed run by the wing back.

Authoritative centre back play, technical quality in the middle of the park, two robust strikers contributing to the team move…
